well gents, here we are again. Im having some brake dust issues. Whats the best way to keep it off your wheels?? I am having some serious issues with this. I have Factory replacement pads and rotors. Oh and this is only happening on the front wheels. Thanks in advance for the help guys!

Dustless pads. Or some extra elbow grease on your rims when you wash your car.

Brake dust sucks.

yes it does...see thats what i've been doing. When i go to the car was i take some simple green and give the wheels a good spraying and the hose them off. But after a few days here comes the brake dust.

waxing my wheels seems to be the best preventative that I have found unfortunately.

Hand washing with some wheel cleaner seems to work best for me. I avoid the car wash best I can. Maybe to blow some winter grime off with the pressure. But handwashing is the way to go.

i have those hawk pads and they've been great so far, with about 12,000 miles on them

Keep it clean, wax your wheels. buy some less dusty pads.

That's about all you can do.

the armor all wheel cleaner is the best i have used for the money. soak the wheel with water, spray wheel cleaner on, let sit for a min or two, scrub with a wheel brush and rinse it offa

If there chrome, use crome polish then wax them,if there Polished Aluminum, just keep them polished, but you cant "stop" brake dust. Ceramic pads would help.

And there only on the fronts because 85% of your braking is done with your front brakes

I use ceramic pads. There a little harsh on the rotors, but they give off almost no brake dust.

Yeah your fronts will be hurting long before the rears will.

Like others mentioned, I am running the Hawk pads too... They are much better brake dust wise but you still have to keep up with it. My car is also garaged year round so it doesnt really end up being an issue keeping it clean.

I dont know what kind of pads ive have on the front of my firebird b/c they came on it. But they really dont put out much brake dust at all and have lasted 30,000 miles of my hard driving.

To make your wheels easier to keep clean I use this..

Poorboys Wheel sealent

Long lasting protection for wheels against the environment and brake dust...makes clean-ups a breeze, even on the worst wheels. Use it on any type of wheel!

It was nice when i put the new rims and tires on they let me do this first and then mounted everything up..now all i need is soap and water to clean my wheels..
