I have a 94 z28 with LTs, CAI, !cats, ported throttle body, borla exhaust,
the cam is a 230/236 @.050 .575 .585 lift. with stock heads.

I got the car dynoed a while back and it made 237 rwhp and 356 rwtq.
it had a bad opti, wires and plugs at time of dyno.

I am trying to get the car tuned, just need to get some money.

with new opti wires and plugs.

How much power do you think i am leaving on the table without a tune.

I'd say 20-30rwhp

You're going to NEED a tune with that cam. The stock tune is set for a stock cam pulling around 20-22 in/hg vacuum at idle. That 230/236 is going to only pull about 12-16 in/hg at idle. What does that mean??? You're getting way too much idle fuel that could potentially wash down your cylinder walls with fuel (bad for rings). Then, once you start coming off of idle, same thing until the cam goes into the power band, then you start running not enough fuel, and we all know that going lean can be very detrimental to a motor's health. Certain cams you can get away with no tune (CC502 or CC502, Hotcam, CC305, small crane grinds) but with the cam you've got, you're asking for trouble not having it tuned.

^GOOD INFO!!!^

wish i woulda listened to ppl telling me i was gonna wash my cylinders when i did my mods in my sig. im still running on bone stock tune 6000+ miles on my mods and my rings are washed out, and goes super rich at idle. Puffs of white smoke at WOT every now an then an compression test confirm ring damage on my motor no point in a tune now.

dont run it long without a tune!
