I picked up my Trans Am and it had a bit of clutch slippage. I blew the headgaskets, and ended up doing nearly all the bolt ons and all that in the process, so now my clutch hates me. Third gear is usually useless if I'm running it hard.

Anyways, I've been reading all over the forums, and see many people happy with the Ram HDX. The price is reasonable, and I've had great experience with Ram clutches in other cars. Anyone have any opinions on this clutch? I'm not intending on many other mods other than maybe a different cold air setup, and some other little things of that nature.

The big question for me is the flywheel. I'm a big "while I'm in there" person, and I also want to fix/upgrade, and never look back. I've been looking into a Fidanza flywheel, but haven't read much about it. Has anyone used a Fidanza, or other aluminum flywheel? My biggest concern is drivability; will this make the car a pain in the ass to drive?

Any input is appreciated.

I picked up a Mcleod Street Twin w/ billet flywheel.

Cant wait to get it in.

Its probably over kill but I wont have to put another clutch in it anytime soon.

I had a RAM HDX, and it was a good clutch. Until it broke. Lasted me about 10k miles with full bolt-ons, and being driven hard on the street. Then it broke a spring on the disk hub.

So if you're running some decent power through it, I would either go bigger, like a Powergrip, or splurge and go with the Street Twin. That will be my next clutch.

I have a Spec Billet Steel flywheel with about 15-20K miles on it that is out of the car and will be up for sale. Everything on it looks good, couple heat spots but nothing bad.. I never even brought the car to the track on that clutch/flywheel.

I bought it straight from spec for $350 but I see some websites have it for $290 + shipping

Pm me if you want a price on it

It never slipped for me and I'll get pics of it when I get over to it
