View Full Version : 2 races on the way home yesterday

On the way home from work yesterday as im gettin on the Hwy a white ls1 TA is getting on at the same time, Passed where the police hide then We got on it a few times from about 65mph and I took him every time. Id say we got up to around 110-115 or so but I wasnt looking at the speedo. Thats the 4th LS1 I have beat in my LT1.

As soon as I get off the Hwy. The very first light goes red. A nice red newer M3 pulls up next to me. Light goes green I start to just drive away normal and he nails it, so I nail it. Within 100 ft I start pulling him and it stayed that way untill we had to slow down.
Very enjoyable ride home.:metal:

2 other LS1s were white convert vettes, one from a dig and the other on the street from about 35mph roll, and the other 1 was a Z28 ls1 at the track(he trapped 99mph).

What mods do you have so far? Obviously you have some goodies to put on from some other posts youve made.

All it has now is the driver mod!!! A B&B 3" cat back, some suspension, HPP
w 160stat, Pro 5.0 shifter and a K&N filter on the stock LT1 factory Ram air. Nothing major on the car.

Major stuff is in the kitchen,spare bed room, my bed room and the garage LOL!!.

Still getting together all the complimenting parts b4 it all goes together.

Yeah, but what got you those wins was the lack of driver in the LSx. Sorry, but I don't care how great you are at driving 50whp can't be made up that easily.

On every forum I have seen you post, you have NOTHING constructive to say. All you do is troll and try to start shit. Funny that he can't make up 50whp (because we all know that EVERY LS1 makes 50whp more than EVERY LT1 right?) yet I ran 2 or 3 LS1 TA's when I only had an intake and a shitty flowmaster and I walked them by about a car.

Never think that maybe they were auto and started in a dead range? Or MAYBE the fact that every LS1 isn't a runner?

and if you can't believe that he beat a 99mph trapping LS1 you're retarded.. I trapped 101 with an intake exhaust and thermostat, bogging and misfiring twice

Yes, there are slow ls1s out there. And there are some fast lt1s.

This Lt1 happens to be stock and has beaten 2 vettes and two others. If they were all autos and poorly geared then yes, it's possible. But for someone to run into 4 slow ones either has left all the fast ones out of the story, or has gotten really lucky.

Oh and don't try to distort what I typed. I never said EVERY ls1 blah blah blah. Get over yourself. It's just a car. I'm done here.

For one the vettes were covertables so they are heavier than a hard top and most vette owners cant drive. The time slips from the track dont lie about the Z28. And the TA was an auto and bone stock im sure,but I saw him downshift it(chirped the tires)so mabe the first couple pulls were in his dead zone but not all of the runs.

You can beleive it or not. Thats up to you.
I feel I have been lucky so far beating them and havent come across any real fast cars yet. But by the time I do Ill have alot more done to the car. So they should be a problem except the faster built cars around.

Just to clarify, a car with exhaust is NOT STOCK... so it doesn't really count in a stock dyno thread...

Well, you've now taken a post out of context. A STOCK car dyno and a STOCK MOTOR are two different things. Reread the threads and you'll see the difference.

Also fyi vert vettes weigh 1 pound more than coupes... still under 3300 lbs. Sounds lighter than an F-body to me.

Achotrod, I believe you beat all those cars pretty fairly actually. You have a 6spd Ws6 and with low miles so your car is in it's prime condition. 6spd Ws6s put down over 270whp. With your additional mods, you should be at or near 300. Which is just around LS1 territory but with a much broader torque curve.

Have you gutted your ram air box and hood yet? I know you don't want to gut the hood, but its a nasty restriction. I have a WS6 hood gutted and the you can look straight throught the hood and see the filter. The ribs on the airbox have been cut out and the boot to the TB was replaced with a home depot 3" rubber adaptor. It's about as free flowing as it's going to get.

But, good job with those races. I wish my Ram Air Formula wasn't a clone, so I'm a tad jealous.

That's all I'm trying to do. I just cast some doubt on the cars ability and I got chastised. NOBODY is allowed to disagree with ANYONE here. I didn't even say I didn't believe him! I just said that he's gotten really lucky with the drivers and cars he's raced.

I agree with the lucky part. If you hang out at the track though the avg. Vette is slower than the avg f-body. Why? Probably driver. I sometimes see a great running vette and often they trapp better but ETs are slower most the time. Guys buy vettes as a status symbols most the time not race cars.




I did not gut my hood or airbox I want the outside to be factory looking 100%. Plus its a DD right now and that tiny baffel in the hood is the only thing keeping rain out of the air box.
I havent even bypassd the TB yetLOL! Figure Ill just do it when I put on my 58mm TB.
Im going back to the track after work tonight, Ill lt you know how it runs.

I agree with everything you both have said since I last posted, and the fact that most guys buy Vettes for looks and not to race is true. At least 60% of the guys I know with Vettes do nothing to them, the other 40% or so completely mod them out. To each his own.

No doubt you got lucky nabbing all those guys though, but I dont think you lied either. We all know what these cars run stock. It happens, Ive spanked many cars I am sure I shouldent have. Its all about the driver.

My car went 13.90 at 101.5ish with a 2.24x 60ft lastnight. Glad I got it into the 13s.
But this 60ft is killing me. The car either spins or bogs. I need some DRs bad. With a decent 60 I ll bet this thing will go 13.6-7s. I dont care though I just wanted to break into the 13s and get a baseline trap B4 I start working on it.

Rain isn't a big deal unless it's like a flood. But you have a real WS6 car so I understand. But my car would be the last thing I'd worry about. I think some water might be good for it. With the engine heat, the steam it would make would be like a mini-top end cleaner.
