Just did the same kit about 2 weeks ago. How many times did you drop/lose the little nuts on the bottoms of the brackets? lol.

I ended up taking the little nuts off of those 4 wire dividers that I didn't use (the ones that just kept the wires together not the ones for the valve covers) I lost like 4, haha.

Haha. I lost two, So I'm only using one of the wire separators. It was worth it, yet a big pain also. haha.

Well I replaced the valve cover gaskets, and cleaned the valve covers too but I would say about 3-4 hours. I had help... I guess. lol The girlfriend was there, I think she was more of a distraction then help though. lol. She tried. lol

Haha, I didn't have a distraction like that...but my uncle's friend brought over his new corvette and i was looking at it for awhile.

What does upgraded plug wires even do performance wise?

they're good for a few horses, but usually they make my car run noticeably smoother.

Yeah I noticed the smooth factor. I like it!

those things are the biggest pieces of shit ever. It took me maybe 2hrs or longer to them too. Stupid little nuts, and routing the wrong wire and what not. Big POS.

I don't see why they even designed those things like that, I could think of way better ways of doing those brackets and without the separating and all that.

/rant.

i glued all the nuts into the bottom of the seperators. I think the threads should be tapped into the seperators anyway. this way you can un-screw the thing and adjust/replace the wires as needed. BTW it tooke me about 4 hours to do mine, i had to custom cut and make all the wires. I also added the fire socks cause i dont want to ever do it again.. LOL

They have setups that go on the side of the valve cover that are aluminum... I'd do those before I did an OVC setup.

it would be nice if you didnt have to cut all the wires custom for the OVC kit.. that was such a pain in the ass.

Mine was all precut and shit as well. Mine came from CC Performance. It was like $147.99 shipped with dividers and wires precut with boots on them.

They were a big PITA. I bought the Taylor kit from Thunder Racing, then bought those separators. I had to use the bolts from the Taylor kit, with the valve covers since they're a bit taller than the stockers. The biggest pain is the primary that runs over top the header, the wires are very close to that primary, and I had to leave one out of the separator, and zip tie it out of the way.

Looks good? I love em. Install them again? Never.

You guys want a tip for the little nuts at the bottom of the holders??? Super glue them into place. Been running for years like that on two cars, plus doing a couple of buddies cars also. Works like a champ. Just make sure you don't cover the hole in the nut and you're good to go.

If I ever have to do that again I will keep that in mind. Half the time during the process of tightening those bolts I had to find that tiny ass nut that dropped...:(

Seeing pictures of these setups makes me wonder if it's worth it to replace my 8.5mm MSD's which work perfectly fine with the Taylor/looms I bought from Thunder Racing for big bucks.

Anyone want to buy a NIB OTVC kit? lol.

Why would you? With headers, the OTVC setup is almost the only way to go.

It looks kind of tacky. I will probably do it anyway.

well that sure as hell makes life easier! It was such a PITA cutting the wires like 3 times, then trying to get the boots over the wires. ugh.

thanks for the link.

No problem. Before you start I would definitely super glue those little nuts in the holders like above people have said, I definitely regret not doing mine that way...

It all depends on how you do it. You can do it the way I did, the way the other guys have, or make your own separator setup. It's not all that difficult.
