i been BBQ'n since i was about 16. I worked at a fish/crab and rib store. The old dude that cooked ribs taught me how. He used wood, i used charcoal, but now i use infared / gas with my new grill. I still par boil/bake my ribs and rub them down b4 grilling, and i use a smoke box in the new grill. I bbq all year long, just shovel snow off the deck to get to the grill.. LOL.. last Xmas we had ribs instead of Ham. Was a good time. I BBQ everything, even SPAM.

we use the grill more that the stove/oven. If you can cook it, we cook it on the grill. everything from the typical burgers, steaks to veggies, to frozen pizzas etc.

right now i think we bbq more than we use the stove or oven. it might be a toss up between the microwave and the grill though... you have to defrost the meat you know;) lol its seriously a cheap and healthy way to eat right and well!

I usually cook out on the grill a few times a week where I work. Nothin too special, just cheeseburgers and hot dogs.

I'm okay but I only have a charcoal grill at my apt so I don't do it a lot. Too lazy.

I can make pretty decent chicken baked in the oven or on my george foreman though.

i love to grill/bbq. you name it i have grilled it. pizza, ribs, pork butt, brisket, burgers, bratts, steaks, shrimp, fish ect. i grill atleast twice a week.

i use wood/charcol. i have used gas but don't like it.

a few years back my dad and i were bored and decided to build our own super grill. it will do over 100 burgers at a time, 15+ rack of ribs or 45 pork steaks. its all indirect heat and stainless rotisery racks. you don't have to flip anything and whole chickens turn out amazing after 5-6 hrs. my neighbors were amazed at the ribs i did a month or so back.

well i got a gas grill with Infared (indirect) heating. The flame heats a Stainless plate then heats the grill. It makes for more even heat and less flare ups.

I guess the same "technology" can be had with wood or charcoal grills, i just never seen a small one that isnt gas.

at home for my everyday use i have a charcol grill that is rectangle. you can build a fire on one side and put the meat on the other. if you have a weber you can still put the coals on one side then put an aluminum pan with some liquid in it on the other side and put the meat over the pan. you wont be able to do as much meat but will work decent.

what i have is SMALL it was $25 so not much it barely holds 1 rack i can push the coals to the back but its still lik uneven cookin. if i took a pan and tide it under the grill rack with some water would that do?

If you REALLLLY wanna have some fun, pick up a decent smoker. I love to bbq with a passion but nothing beats smoking a slab of ribs, making your own sauce, and then watching people devour it like it's their last meal on earth!! God, i'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Looks like i'll be making a trip to the butcher after work!!

here is the cooker i have on the deck. twin chamber w/ removable devider.

when i do stuff in the super grill i will usually only put sauce on pork steaks. the pork butts/shoulders, ribs and chickens get a dry rub that i make from scratch and let sit on the meat for 8 hours (give or take).
