We just got the car in after lunch for cool down and tear down. We plan to be on the dyno tomorrow. The blower will be the only addition over stock at this time.

Larry,
Just REALLY looked at the 10 Camaro today, does it have a MAF sensor? is it in the airbox?
Speed Inc.
07-27-2009, 09:27 PM
it should rock! The MAF is a card style and it's built into the tube/airbox.

It has WAAAAY too much room in that engine bay .... I say an 10-71 blower would fill the void !

ha..you guys are funny.
it's done, but we will not be on the dyno until Thur due to normally business
We will also have a CAI to test Thur as well. This will be based off a RotoFab which we will fabricate the intake tube to blower.

very nice gains
Awesome! That has got to be the easiest LS style motor to work on EVER! You have to fight and fight to get the intake off a 98-02 Fbody, this one just popped right off I'm sure.

LOL..yeah I meant a car with a trans that could take the hit:D
Email coming shortly. Gotta take the kid to the Dr. now for CU.
The SS sounds good on the dyno...to have a basically stock car with a blower and get 500+ rwhp is an awesome package...I'm sure you guys will be selling a ton of these.

oh..I see
I think it will be good package as well.
talk to you soon

so... bad day to go to the track and try and get a feel for the new setup. The ride was over 2 hrs in traffic and then over 1 hr in tech. We gave the car about a 15 minute cool down and went for it.
car just turned 1000 miles on the trip up to the track
1/2 tank of 93 BP
race weight..I would say 4K
tires were M&H 345/35/18 : http://www.mandhtires.com/store.php?crn=70&rn=380&action=show_detail
2 runs is what I got...Jim got one off and Dan had a clutch pedal on the floor issue.
#1 tried a 3800ish launch with a smooth, but quick clutch release which resulted in a little spin and hop which I quickly pedaled through. I power shifted at approx 6500 ( stock tach ), but it did not seem to like the power shift at times...slight hesitation since I think the flare would hit the limiter. I tried to run out 3rd gear, but just short of the stripe the car nosed over from the limiter.
2.1 60ft
91 1/8
12.38
119.5
#2 was about 1 hr after the above mentioned clutch pedal stuck on the floor for Dan I decided to try it again. The hood stayed shut for the time it was sitting and the clutch still had a horrible smell. I worked the car through staging for about an hr and then finally got the second run. I came out at approx 3200 ( worried about clutch ) with a quick, but smooth clutch release again and had just a touch of spin/hop and stayed in it. The run felt good here...did not power shift 1-2 and shifted about 6200 on all gears + pulled 4th this time.
1.84 60ft
93 1/8
11.87
118.4
We really feel a gear or shorter tire would really help the car work well both on the front and back of the track
so we are very happy with the car considering lack of time last night to get a feel for the car. We will get back out and work the ET some very soon.

Larry,
Just curious, but why did you decide to go with the Maggie style blower over a centrifugal style blower?
Honestly, I was kind of hoping you guys would do a Turbo on your new SS
Beautiful car you have reguardless!
Speed Inc.
08-01-2009, 10:02 AM
instant tq to move the pig + it was the only option
TT will be in the future, but now it's to approach the typical crowd coming through the door
thanks

I can see with a heavy car why you would want the instant TQ that the Maggie can prvide.
I'm with you on the idea of putting a Turbo in it (or 2 :D). The LS3 is a great base platform for large power to be had. Best of luck with your SS, and I'll keep looking for when you start boosting one from a turbo
Speed Inc.

correct..blower, cai and tune
We want the TT setup on it bad and we had planned an APS kit ( G8 with some modification ) but they stopped making it. We just don't see a custom kits cost being for most of the walk in customers. This setup we feel will be for most.
trust me it will have twins on it and hopefully sooner then later:devil:

I can understand. To most, the car lightly modded with a few bolt ons with a cam would be more than enough. Then to some, putting the Maggie on would be enough...
Then there are people like me that aren't satisfied until they see numbers past 650 at the wheels, and know that at highway speeds if they dropped it in 3rd gear and let the hammer down it would get squirrely
If I ever am in a position to get a 5th Gen, I will be going with a large turbo for sure. Until then, I look forward to seeing it done by someone else to see how it handles it, and see how it performs. Best of luck to you Larry, and I look forward to the future

We are with you man... this blower will probably not keep us happy for too long, but who knows.
todays updates on the project
-3.6 6 rib upper ( was 3.8 )
-Innovators 10% overdrive 8 rib truck crank pulley
( we will be going 8 rib at some point )
We also took and modified an 03/04 Cobra HE reservoir for some added cooling capacity. We think it looks good and should help out some.
We are waiting on some LS9 injectors to get us by for now.
