I had bought datamaster, tuner cats and proper cabling from moates. i didnt get my com ports set up right, my computer wanted me to use COM4, cause my printer was using COM3, datamaster wants me to use COM3. just fixed it in control panel.
Anyways on to my findings, i had a DTC as soon as my car started, #16- low res opti fail. i ran my car with datamaster hooked up until it cut out, like it had been doing as i was driving it, several months ago. when it cut out, i tried restarting it 2 or 3 times, it would cough backfire and die. 3 new codes, 41,42, and 51. EST- no distributer pulse at PCM, EST- No signal on electronic spark timing bypass circuit, and EPROM/PCM Checksum fail(pcm didnt like loosing the signals, not a tune problem).
So im positive that my optical sensor in my opti is shot. Thats ok with me cause i have an msd unit ordered awaiting shipping and arrival.
Here are my files if you want to see any comparison info.
Notes for my files, Im a noob with datamaster, so the .uni file had the demo at the beginning, and then my recording. My recording starts at record #907, mostly idling. Also, in both the .uni and the spreadsheet, you will see excessive knocking, thats because i started the car while recording. so no my car isnt that broke...
.UNI File (http://www.thereaperclan.com/carpics/datamaster/lt1firstrun.uni)
Spreadsheet format (http://www.thereaperclan.com/carpics/datamaster/lt1firstrun.csv)
I Recommend saving the webpage so you can open it up in excel. The columns dont quite line up, and i couldnt figure out how to force clients to save it instead of just displaying it.
