alright so i agreed to help a buddy out on his 1994 3.1l oldsmobile thingy haha. and i have to replace the lower intake gasket. any advice anyone? is it hard? what all do i have to do? all i have ever worked on is the lt1 lol

There pretty easy, ive done about a dozen of them. Just take your time
I would consider renting a handheld valve spring compressor, the type you set on the rocker and lift upwards to compress the valve spring to get the push rod out. That way you dont have to adjust all the rockers.

did the 3.1 change from 94 to 99?i did lower intake gasket on my 99 cutlass 3.1 and i dont remember having to do anything with my rockers or springs.i remember it being a fairly easy job..just alot of parts and bolts to take off so dont be to proud to bag and tag everything

you have to take the pushrods out of the way, the intake gasket "weaves" inbetween the pushrods.. why i dont know.. But.. you have to remove them to get the gasket off. You can cheat it and use a tool they make that pulls the rocker up with it still attached to the head and pop the pushrod out. You can even avoid removing the rear valve cover.
