I was going to give this a shot. Was wondering if anyone had already tried it to good/bad results. Not even sure how high it will go but im almost positive its going to be a waste of my time. It wont cost me too much atm.

Are you talking about a fresh trans and reusing the stock converter?
Your answer is no. All of the old sediment is going to be in the old converter and mess up your new trans right away

No I was going to take it to PTC in Kennedale, TX and get the converter rebuilt and reflashed higher.

Im no transmission expert, but from my research when I was looking into buying a stall for my car you dont want to go over like a 2500 stall on a stock diameter converter. Those big things create a lot more heat and become less efficient when you stall them higher.
I ended up with a YANK but was gonna go with EDGE for my build due to the price difference.

I just talked to one of the guys at PTC and he answered all my questions. It will cost me 150 to get it restalled up to 2200-2500. Ill probably keep it on the low side due to me not having my ideal tranny cooler at the moment. No hot lapping for me. A Yank SS3600 and Moroso twin stacked tranny cooler will find their way in there soon enough. And my spare 4l60e will get some fat parts in it. Time is the only thing slowing me down at this point.

150 isnt bad at all I dont think, hell a rebuilt stock stall is more than that. My car came with a 2500 restall in it but the tranny was toast so I never got to feel it, except in reverse.
