Thinking about it. It depends on if I can get this cam surge squared away.

Any issues, complaints, or regrets about the SD tune?

Why did you go with an SD tune?

Actually, Im not a fan of SD I prefer using the maf. I have tuned SD cars before but to me unless your running big boost, monster cam, or dedicated race car, or a conversion and theres no room theres no need to SD IMO. Cam surge is something that can be tuned out. Depending on the cam profile cam surge is something you might have to deal with. Especially if the cam is on a tight lsa.

I dont think SD is gonna help any with cam surge. Mainly because you'd have to rely on a MAP sensor thats not going to like your cam. The MAF is more sheltered from the intake reversion from your cam, and will therefore provide a more stable signal than the MAP sensor could.

Its all in the tuning.

SD here and no complaints. Was suggested by Ed Wright to do it. Made great power, drove great. New motor not done yet, so idk how it will be lol...Theres a 3-4 month wait to get into Ed for a tune. time to learn myself.

I have considered going to SD, this will pick up some power and free room in the engine bay.

running OLSD here, great because the motor does what i tell it to do. don't have to worry so much about reversion fucking with the MAF, or the o2s being unreliable at idle/low rpms.

Im running an open loop tune, which still uses the MAF but has no front or rear O2's Seems to run really good and good AFR

Just with the size of Phils (MPE331lx) cam it will be a gamble. If it cant get a clean MAP signal at idle and part throttle, it wont help the situation much.

Phil, if you get a tuning software package I'll be glad to give the SD tune a try for you.
