Well I was looking for an alternative to having to swap out my pepboys crap reman distributor every three months. I was looking on ebay and i stumbled up this.
http://all-ignition.com/gen2-df-lt1.html (http://all-ignition.com/gen2-df-lt1.html) :driving:
It looks very similar to the msd and cheaper. The site says it has a lifetime warranty. Has anybody used this or am i the first one to find it. Im trying to get the money together to get it and anything is better then my pepboys junk.

If you're spending 500$ on one, I would go with a much more well known and trusted company

Its 300 though, so I was just wondering. Is MSD the best one you can get?

i dunno if it is the best, but it is the most expensive. If and when my MSD takes a crap i will rebuild it for use on a Delteq or similar coil pack setup

Definitely has most of the features the MSD does, but Ive never heard of it and would not do it for that reason. Maybe if we had some feedback, but I really just heard about them now.
I still stand behind AC Delco/MSD/Dynaspark. Way too much good to be said about all of these.
EDIT : And correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt all_ignition the guy to lookout for on ebay with the bad optis?

Also remember a warranty is only good as long as a company is around... That's why I'd stick with a part you get from GM, MSD, or similar.

no problem, I knew the name all-ignition was familiar for a reason.

well after reading that im NOT buying one. But know the question is MSD or DynaSpark. I like my lt1 and dont want to put coils on it. Not busting on anybody. But which would you pick.

I haven't heard anything good about that company.

I haven't been convinced yet that anything else is better than getting a new one from GM. Most people that go through optis left and right eventually find out that something else is the cause. Be sure to check the dowel length, loose cam bearings, cam retainer plate, etc.

Stay away from allignition. I had one of thier opti's fail in a couple thousand miles. I'm about to box it up and send it back. OEM FTMFW!

I did a write up on the first generation MSD opti's
mine is running great for about 20 or 30K, zero issues
I got mine on ebay for what I assume was a pricing mistake by the seller picked it up for 399 shipped
anyways here is the link to the write up
