Well after spending the afternoon/night in my friend garage I finally got the lowering kit on. Only had one problem, the bolts from the stock panhard bar won't fit in the Lakewood Panhard bar that I bought. Just wondering what I should do here? What grade should the bolts be?

I'm surprised that I dont have more issues with my fenders rubbing, i guess I'm going to be rolling my fenders this week, then after that some stuff has to be put on hold, I think i have a sick opti. :(
My car woulda torched the grass and more than likely caught my car on fire :(
The T/A looks good on the drop, keep it clean!

How ground clearance with the long tubes? That's my biggest fear. My Pacesetters don't sit very low, but it still makes me nervous.

Yeah about the ground clearance...not so much. I'm pretty sure my LT's hit the speed bump at work if I ever drive it. I can get you an actual measurement if you want?

That would be cool if you don't mind. I'm find on speed bumps at stock height, I just really don't want to find out the hard way that I don't have the clearance.

So... I never realized how hard it would be to get a tape measure under my car. lol. But I did it... The lowest point of the long tube has about 2 7/8" clearance and the Y-pipe has about 4" of clearance. Hope that helps. I have only hit once on speedbumps. I try to avoid them any other time. Tried at strattle (sp?) a turtle the other day...yeah didn't turn out too well for the turtle...

Yikes, that may make it a bit too hard to DD around here. I appreciate the measurements. Helps out big time.

Those are definitely the sportlines...I have the Pro kit and you sit a little lower than I do. Nice car btw...looks kinda familiar minus the wheels and tint!

that looks sick. i like that. did you have to change your struts or anything?
Huff035
09-28-2009, 11:24 AM
The only thing that I did when I lowered it was...
-Panhard bar
-Rolled the fenders
-Changed the springs.
Probably going to be getting some shocks this spring though.

wow i just found this thread
basically you're ballsy for going with the sportlines with long tubes!!!
i'm still on the fence about going with a prokit, but looking at lt1blackbirds stance, i'm jealous and decided.
now huff, once you lower your car its a good idea to get the lca relocation kit to correct the center of gravity also.

Im running the same springs, and I
-rolled the fenders
-removed spacer for rear shocks that leans em, so they are upright
-and now with the 8way adjustable front struts on #3...
IT RIDES AWESOME!!!!!

yeah you really gotta watch your headers. i was pulling out of a parking garage with too steep of a incline and it ripped the clamp that holds my y pipe to my header off. My headers sit lower than my subframe connectors
Huff035
11-05-2009, 08:37 AM
Yeah, the headers are the lowest thing on my car...it sucks.

damn i wanna lower mine but i already drag across speed bumps as it is, most of the speed bumps we have are call "speed humps" and there huge. With a 4inch bullet an a turn down hanging under i think lowering is outta the question.
btw huff im going to steal ur car. it looks awesome!

Yeah I feel your pain when it comes to draggin on stuff. Your car looks more and more similiar to mine everytime I see updated pictures. If you love my car so much you should buy my wheels in febuary. Prolly will sell them for like $500- $600 with tires. Then you can have a car ALMOST like mine. lol Thanks on the compliments again.
