I have to tell everyone about the worst 48 hours of my life. Yesterday as I was leaving the doctors office I go out and start my DD. It revs up very high and then starts knocking. There is a dealership a block away (my father in law works there) to have the noise investigated. My worst fears were confirmed. I had spun a rod bearing. I limp the car home and park it so I can figure out what to do with it. In the meantime I know I have to get the camaro going. I still had to put the steering shaft on and put the new throttle cable in. I got up this morning and got a ride from my brother to get the cable from the stealership. We get home and get it all put back together. Cool. I needed to drive up to the next town to go to the hardware store for a few odds and ends. On the way ther the car flings the belt off. It made a noise so I stopped to investigate. (which is when I found the belt missing) Call my wife to come play search and rescue and she finds the belt like 2 miles back on the road. I get the belt back on and go to start it up and I am greeted with a bang. I jack the car up to check the starter and the plunger is stuck inside the fly wheel. I pull the inspection cover and the starter and I am greeted with 2 handfulls of material from my clutch disc. Fuck! Now I am out both of my cars. I talked with my father and he is going to help with a motor for my DD, but I'm SOL on the camaro. God this sucks. I know this is a novel, but I can't help but think EPIC FAIL.

That sucks man!

Reminds me of a story my father told me once when he went through 2 transmissions, an engine, and rear end all in one weekend in his old 67 GTO.

That's frustrating, sorry to hear that. My car is in the shop too and the truck I've been borrowing bit the dust yesterday. I hearsay I need a new opti for the bird -- I just had it replaced last August!?!

Anyway, good luck on working 'em out.
