Ok I am going nuts here.

I have LT1Edit with 2 Vins both full versions came with the car.

I have the data cable that came with the car, the OBDII connector (I have a 95) the AKM connector and then a serial to parallel. I have no serial port.

I have tried the following:
1) Serial to USB, will not connect. I did select the right come port this is the same connector I used with Megasquirt no problems.

2) Parallel right into the parallel port (I had to get a male to male connector obviously) nothing.

3) Parallel to USB (Again using the male to male connector) nothing.

I thought I was making progress as the PCM Comm and Prog one's will claim to be connected on Com 3, but nothing else.

I try to use LT1edit and it reads no vin just as the mentioned programs. I try to edit the system and it gives me a run time 11 error and crashes.

I was thinking about buying tuner cats but now I am just pissed and want to kick it out the damn window. Tuner Cats looks nothing like Megasquirt either and frankly these seem to be different animal's by far. I am lost and frankly pissed that I seem to have so many problems with just connecting not to mention getting the chance to try and figure out what the hell I am doing so I can tune.

Can anyone help me here.... or just take the laptop everything and I will buy a mail order tune? I am going nuts here.

(Sorry its been a long night)

I also had alot of problems with Lt1edit... I tried every USB to serial adapter I could find with no success. I firmly believe that it just will not work correctly without an actual serial port on the laptop.

Tunercats Ive been told has less issues, but I really cant speak for it. LT1edit sucks anyway, sell them with the damn pcm they are locked to and start fresh with a different platform.

It gets better, I got pissed at all the problems and paid Ion at MadCat Tuning for a tune.

Even with another laptop with a serial port it refused to read the PCM's current tune but I gave it a try loading the new file and no problem it loaded the new file all is good to go... I just don't get it... stupid LT1Edit.
