View Full Version : Looking into a 100 Wet Shot

So I have been keeping my eyes open for a Wet kit and I have found a ZEX I like.

My motor has about 17000 Miles on the 355 Rebuild. The rebuild was to stock compression, Forged Rods, Stock Crank, Hypern whatever they are called pistons and a GM 847 Cam with 1.6RR's. Obviously the smaller supporting mods are in place.

I am looking at the following;
100 Wet Shot
SVO 30 Injectors

I want to know 2 things;
1) Do I need a 255 yet? 100 will be my max this is my Daily and I want it to last hints the small shot.

2) How safe do you feel the 100 shot is, I see some claiming they are running 125 to 175 on 150k+ Mile motors and its fine... others who say anything about 125 is nuts.
Is there a def point that crosses the safe line?

What would be the advice of those here who have run Nitrous?

Thanks

Haven't run nitrous, but the only thing that would stop me from running a 100 shot on your engine, is that you're using hyper pistons. It's been my experience that they are great for N/A setups, but are horrible for boost and nitrous. They just don't stand up well to it.

But a 100 shot is pretty much always considered to be in safe territory, especially in an engine that's got low miles/not a lot of wear and tear.

The pistons will be fine get the fuel pump instead of the injectors tr6s and spray it hard! You will love the 100 shot but there are other kits out that would be better like nitrous outlet and hsw. I have a hsw kit and love it the price wasnt bad either. Also both of there tech supports will set you up with the kit and all the parts you need to spray safely as you can!

I forgot I already have the fuel pump to back it up supposedly from the prior owner, I know the fuse is still up by the Alternator as comes in the kit.

Guess its time to do the fuel door mod and go from there.

I agre you will be fine....as long as the "tune up" is correct.

I ran 3 bottles a week through a heads/cam stock shortblock for over 2 years.

I have to ask is there a particular reason you are wanting the ZEX kit? Or are you open to discuss a more modular kit. Not trying to dissuade, you as we sell ZEX also, just wanted to know what you are thinking.

No TR6's those projected plugs are shit, sooo much bad info out there about them.

I would also side with Ray about Zex, the ease of having the solenoids in one housing is cool but when you have options and bigger solenoids, higher quality parts and such. There is no reason not to go with a nicer kit.

Good luck.

I was told Zex kits are the safest from a few others thats why I was leaning towards them. I am always open to more information.

Zex cant be any safer the a traditional wet kit. Its 2 solenoids, power/ground and some feed lines.

The zex stuff has issues with heat in the box that can kill the solenoids. Look into a Brand X kit (www.nitrousoutlet.com (http://www.nitrousoutlet.com)) and you will be plenty satisfied with the product and the service, garuanteed.
