Anybody ever pull a boat with their Fbod?
I dont mean a big ski boat, but maybe like an older small bass boat or john boat.
Im getting a boat and dont want to resurect the old 72 ford which gets a whopping 8 miles per gallon and was wondering if I could use the camaro for a while. I found tow kits at summit.

I've seen fbodies with hitches on them before, and I would imagine a small fishing boat would be fine, just be careful.

HAve you seen drag week. It is funning seeing a first gen with wheelie bars, parachute, and a trailer. He needed to carry his tools tires and spare rearend some where.
It could be done but watch the tongue weight.
EDIT By the way most bass boats are heavy. You may not think so but a fiberglass boat could be a bit much. Aluminum 14-16 footer no problem.

Saw a C5 Z06 with a trailer on it the other day at a gas station. Had a spare set of wheels and I think it was a small tool box. I was going to take a picture but didn't think about it in time..

My dad used to haul dirt bikes with his '88 Formula 350... lol, it was cool :D
Of course, those L98s have a lotta torque.

boat weighs about 900 pounds tops, tongue weight shouldnt be too bad. I think its possible but not sure if I want to do it. Only truck I have access to is a gas hungry bigblock with no power steering that Im not too fond of driving.

It'll pull it. It would look funny and I'm not sure how well it would work while launching the boat, but it would pull just fine.

LMAO @ the video.
Drive the truck! Dont put a hitch on your Camaro (unless you want to put a grill on the back of it and cook hot dogs/hamburgers after you street race)!

Oh yeah... didn't think about that. Getting the boat in the water with such a low car might not be such a great idea.

Yeah, I got to thinking about that to, dont know if I would want to do that. Guess Ill pull the old Ford out of the woods and get it registered. Need to put an exhaust on it. Wonder how a 390 will sound with my old spiral flows. :hmm:
Now the question is, how do I get over 8 miles a gallon with a 390fe with a dual line 670 holley and small cam.

If you're only using it to tow a boat, it might be a good idea to get a cheap beater truck (s10 or ranger) thats old. It wouldn't need exhaust and probably get more than 8mpg.

You'd be more than fine towing a 900 pound boat with an f-body, especially a 6-speed.
Wait, just noticed you're auto. If you don't have a tranny cooler on there already (You should with a stall...), I would NOT suggest towing with it. Not because you couldn't, lt1+stall+3.73s=more torque than half the trucks out there anyway, but it'll make boatloads of heat in the transmission. Pun intended! :P
EDIT: But like said above, launching the boat would be very difficult. haha
EDIT 2: Wait, the SS3600 is on the way...nevermind the other stuff. haha
