FocuzTech is pleased to announce the early development of new performance based projector headlamps for the 93-97 Camaro. Modeled after our successful SStreetlights Headlamps for the Impala SS & Caprice, the new Camaro package will enahance the front end of the Camaro but provide increased performance through OEM quality optical components, projector technology and both halogen and HID light sources. Please bookmark this location as we will be updating it with our progress.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments regarding this product or it's design. Send all email correspondence to mailto:sales@focuztech.com
Thanks-
FocuzTech.
I found this while searching for foglight deletes. I mite give them an email to see if they are still trying to do it - there was no date on the page.

PM Call911. He was organizing that. Essentially what FocusTech did was make a mountable hella projector kit. CALL911 can explain it much better.

There's a thread in the appearance section of CZ28 about these. I've seen the company mentioned elsewhere too. It seems no one has actually seen them mounted and it always turns in to a debate. On the other hand, there was another post in the thread with someone who used 98+ headlamps. I found it interesting, so I figured I'd pull over pics:

I don't think that looks too bad at all - was he able to mount them?

they have a page for it. not sure if that is supposed to be it in the picture, and the description leaves a little room for interpretation as to what all exactly you would have when opening the box.

it really looks great, i wonder how hard it was.. do you have the link to the thread, and was their a build thread for this?
although, on this particular car, i would have went with red halos.

The FocuzTech thread can be found HERE (http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=676464), but if you search on other sites, I know I have seen longer discussions on the item.
As for the pics, they are not the FocuzTech product. Just trying to avoid confusion...I probably should not have strayed off topic. It is an LS1 style headlamp that the guy adapted to our bucket. The pics were originally pulled from the following: HERE (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mitymouse17/). Unfortunately, the pics don't go in to any great detail on how he modified everything to fit. A writeup would have been nice. I really do like how the Halos turned out.
well that just blows... lol.
they look way better than stock!

No. They need a shroud along the bottom to hide the curvy lines of the LS1 style nose where it meets the lights. Shroud those, and you've got a winner.

It may look a lot better and hide the curves if the buckets were painted the way they should be.

i just can't believe they haven't come out with aftermarket headlamps for these cars yet... they make aftermarket headlamps for virtually every other car.

Not really anything to make is there? Don't you just buy LS1 headlights and make some brackets to make them fit?
I LOVE the look of LT1 headlights BUT I think a Whistlered set of LS1s WITH FACTORY BLACK BUCKETS could look pretty friggin killer as well.
Anyone want to photoshop it?

Agreed. Also in the upper corners you can kind of see that the lights are rounded off and don't sit flush.
It's not something I would do. But someone is buying my LS1 Headlight Brackets to give it a try.

same plugs as our cars???
and the halos, do uwire them seperatly?
Colossus

The high beams are 9007's and the low beams are 9006 and they plug right in. Wire the halos into the fogs or the running lights. Just pick when you want them to come on.

06-28-2009, 12:04 AM
the lights are still going to be sank in the headlight buckets, making the lighting probably still sub-par right? it'd be cool if you could cut away the half circle on the end of the bumper and get those ls1 lights to sit nicely in there so the lighting will be better as well.
Colossus
06-28-2009, 12:44 AM
I think now that I'm running 9006's I may just get some HID's for them.
we need a solid head light, that sets in the head light hole 1" up top and 3 to 4" from the bumper, that is slantted and follow the contor of the hole.....i bet thay could sell 200 of them the first year
bricez28
06-29-2009, 09:46 PM
im really gunna do the ls1 headlight mod. im gunna make it look better. i just need a set of halos.
bricez28
06-29-2009, 09:47 PM
but i know what you mean fuel. sorta lieka tahoe light, but slanted correctly
like a ls1 light molded for are bumper and hood.........brought forward more but resesed in a inch......like a ls1.....get rid of the pocket look

The sunken look makes it more "mean" IMO. That's why I stuck with the recessed lights on my pickup.

It would be intresting to see how they would look on the car.....but i guess im just wierd. I HAD a 99 camaro....halo's and i threw those to the curb for a set of Whistler modded headlights.....id do that before i would EVER go projector or halo headlights. They just look cheap and something that belongs in F&F Tokyo Drift to me. But like i said gents, thats just my opinion.

Just wondering as I'll probably be tearing into my car in the next couple months and I'm trying to decide if I want to add these to my to do list.

regardless the lights will be sank in the buckets just like our normal head lights. i would imagine lighting still wouldn't be that great. that's the killer here really.

This has been talked about over and over again, and the end results are that they are not in production.
There are a multitude of people (as previously posted) that have fabbed some sort of Hella 90mm into the place of the factory housings, but no plug and play system exists.
I started the thread on CZ28.com years ago about it and thus started the original fury which ended up getting the company "Focus Tech" interested in them. They later backed out of the original idea claiming too much cost was involved to start the moldings. This was where the quote came in the first post in this thread.
Fastbird and I even tried taking this on for a while, but got stopped when we couldn't find any housings to put around the projectors. This compounded with the difficulty of actually designing and producing something that will look attractive and produce great light quality all in the relatively small housing areas that are on the 93-97 F-body was almost too much. It became too much when my career kicked off and am now bogged down working 12+ hours a day that also requires work when I get home and even on weekends. When I am done with this phase of my career (in about 12 more months), perhaps Fastbird and I will start the project back up.
In the mean time there is a company which just started producing custom projectors for the 98-02 Firebirds that I am attempting to convince to produce something similar for the 93-97 Camaro's. They are very swamped with the over-abundance of orders for their new product, and I doubt they try to take on something new, at least right now. If you want to check out the thread and help the cause by posting your interest in the production of something similar for us 93-97 Camaro's, heres the link; http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/1243296-introducing-blackbird-lighting-solutions-98-firebird-proj-headlight-retro-gp.html
