Ok well I've always been back and forth between this and I find myself here again. Once again I bought an AT T/A because I got it for a good price and now I'm trying to decide what to do. 6spd swap or built auto? I love the look of my friends faces when I jumped off the line with my last auto that had a stall in it. And I've heard that a good built tranny with a nice stall can be just as fun as banging gears. I'm stuck in the middle, what do you guys suggest?

I went from 6 speed to a built and stalled auto . And while its nice to just jump in a cruise I mainly miss it for hitting twisties ,

Its up to you. I personally love just standing on the gas and going. But I miss the 6 speed at the same time

If I was to choose again I'd go with the stick. Somthing about a stick that makes the car more of a sports car to me. just my 2 cents.

Thats the way I always feel about it too anymore. I'm only 19 which is always going to make me think a little different, but when I look at my car all I can think is its an auto :(. Even when you just look at the outside of it it just doesn't seem like as much car as it could be if it were a stick. although that makes absolutely NO sense at all. haha. Just the way I feel about it.

Same situation here. My truck was a 5spd. When it was LT1 swap time... I had a built 700r4 that fit the bill. Now, I miss banging gears.

It's nice to be consistant, but there's something about hitting a perfect shift.

I'd like to eventually swap to a 6spd. I like corner carving, autoX, and road course... I've always felt more in control with a manual tranny.

The auto is probably the only reason my 7 5/8 rear stayed together... but now i have a 8.5 :D

That is another reason I'm afraid of the 6spd, because i plan on putting some power to wheels here in the not so distant future and I have feeling my rearend will be the victim.

Ive had both and went back to the M6, much more fun to drive!!
I do admire the way a stalled auto leaves of the line, and since my car is going more towards a drag car I constantly think about switching to a A4 but know Ill be upset about it sooner or later.

I switched to a built auto since I use my car mostly for drag racing and cruising on the weekends. I first I thought I would miss it but going 1.59 to the 60ft makes up for that. My DD Saturn is manual so I still get to bang gears that way, lol.
