take it all apart and put it in rice!!!! i am sooooo serious it will suck the water from the inside...

if you dont got any rice take it all apart as much as you can and get a blow dryer after it!!!!! dont try to turn it on at all for 1 to 2 days cause if you do, if there is any water inside it will fry the circuit board!!!!!

PATIENCE IS KEY!!!!!!!

let us know how it goes goodluck!!!!

Do this.

i once dropped my phone in my rum and coke at a party, it stayed in there for almost a minute and even vibrated in my cup before i noticed it.

Took it out, ripped the battery out right away, and threw it in rice over night and it was fine the next day. Been working fine ever since and that was last year!

who is your service provider? If you have one that uses GSM(AT&T, T-Mobile for ex.) technology. You can get a cheap phone off ebay or other internet stores. If you have one that uses CDMA (Sprint, Verizon, Alltel for ex.) you might be able to get a refurbished phone. although it wont be cheap... its an option to get you back in with the wireless world. hope that helps... if you have any questions, just ask. I'm a cell phone tech for AT&T.

haha the methods stated above can work... although its not always a sure thing. I've seen most will recieve but not send out. and like stated, do not try to turn it back on for at least a few days.

I actually just took my battery out and threw it all in rice. Mine was only in there for maybe 6 hours and it was fine the next day. Id probably wait a full day though just to make sure :P

I was completely hammered when this happened and even tried to turn it on a few times and was getting angry that it was making weird pictures and stuff on the screen.

So i imagine you should be fine haha

I have alltel... It has the little sticker under the battery so the people will know it has been wet... so last time I had water damage I went there and said I lost the phone so that I could get another one.. it sucks i still have to pay $50.00 tho! it sucks for some reason insurance doesnt cover water damage!!

take the battery out and the sim card if you got one. let it sit for 1-2 days and it should be good. this method doesnt always work but at least you are trying:claps:

How'd you drop it in a cup of water? Not even a body of water or a full sink? That's talent right there :D

Good luck on fixing it, don't stress too much about it :)

Verizon still has the insurrance plan(and i live by it, id die without it) you can't get the "new every two" unless your phone is eligable for an upgrade(it really sucks) i had to add a new phone on my line because i couldn't afford a phone at full retail price...you gotta read between the lines with phone companies. They really screw you over. Insurance should cover water damage i have always had to pay $50 no matter what happend to the phone...

GOOD LUCK!!
Yes but please don't pay me back with rice, we don't like "rice"
you don't need to pay us back really!!

Because there's a higher risk of dropping your phone in a cup of water in FL?

I've sent about 3 different phones in the washing machine, 1 in a pool, and 1 in a snow bank... Me and cell phones dont get along at all.

I never really had any tricks.. I would take the battery out and let it dry... If it worked, I would keep on using it. If not, I'd pay for a new one from the insurance company. 2 of the phones that went through the washing machine still worked fine for me, which I was kinda suprised about.

I'd try what they have to say. What would you lose? I havent ever heard about it before, but its worth a shot. Let us know how it goes. If you dont have any luck with that, try looking on ebay or get a replacement phone from the insurance company if you have insurance on it.

Steph,

You just need to keep your phone in a zip-lock... lol i gave you one at 11:15pm. Your's also needs to be baby proof as well so your daughter doesn't call random people while she is playing with it because she doesn't want the non-working phone(humm wonder why they don't work...)... lol

Sounds like you guys should look into purchasing a Casio Boulder. They are waterproof and are damn near indestructible. I sometimes drop my phone in my glass when I'm out at the bar, picnics, etc. just to see people's reactions.
