Did anyone put exhaust wrap on their headers or anything?

I got my turbo hotparts (they were wrapped with a fiberglass type wrap) yesterday and not thinking I picked them up and they ended up rubbing on my arms.

I roofed for a while and I was pretty used to fiberglass irritation but today my arms are all messed up.. I have a red irritation up and down both of my arms (mainly on both sides of my arms from the elbow down)

This ever happen to anyone?

I put lotion on it but my arms itch like freaking crazy.

I wouldn't use header wrap unless it's a race vehicle. On a street car it will cause your headers to rust out much faster than if they weren't wrapped.

Yes I've used exhaust wrap before and it's a fiberglass insulation type material. It will itch. I would suggest you wear eye protection if you mess with it again.

This is on turbo hotparts, I'm not too worried about the rust, it's mild steel so it's going to rust eventually anyways.. I've also been told that they have been coated on the inside (haven't confirmed this)... it's all to try and contain the heat... If you've ever seen turbo manifolds while the turbo is boosting for a period of time, you'll know what I mean
