Car: 97 lt1 z28. M6 PS LT's, magnaflow, CAI, emissions delete, pcm tune. Pretty much it for mods worth mentioning. heh
Last year at the track, granted it was my first time, the fasted run i could squeeze out (with shitty street rubber) was as followed:
60- 2.299 :(
1/8- 9.265
MPH- 79.42
1/4- 14.208
MPH- 100.11
Not exactly all that great in my opinion. Im shifting at about 5600, not sure if i should be taking it any higher then that? Track in question is 2200 feet above sea level.
Seems like a shitty time if you ask me.
Only difference tomorrow will have is that ill have a set of MT ET streets on very light magnesium vette wheels.
What kind of times should i be expecting. I dont see why the car shouldnt be able to do 13.6
Advice welcome, thanks

on et streets , drop em to 15psi , good burnout to clean em off and get em warm and leave at 5000
good times for sure , et streets dont like low rpms , it will hook and bog terribly !!!!

On the few hard launches ive done on the street ive been doing them at like 4000. I gotta give this 10bolt credit so far, she's taken alot of abuse from me haha.
Ill post slips tonight when i get back, hopefully i can get a 13.6-7 out of er tonight :D. Maybe if im feeling brave and lucky ill launch at 5 haha. :D

60' looks a bit soft, whats your track altitude? 6k launch may net you a better ET but also raises the chances of being towed home:(

Nothing worse then comming home from the track on the hook.

Thats true but to run fast times there has to be sacrafices and collateral damage.
I dont see why that car wouldnt go 13.0-13.20s all day long. If you can roll out a mid 1.8x 60' and trap 105-106...thats easily doable.

X2.
If you can launch the car with the 5-6k dump without breakage (or without bogging), and go through the gears cleanly, you will rip off some nasty times.
With that bieng said, you should just try and find the perfect amount rpm and clutch slip to get it out of the hole without bogging. your 60fts will drop and you should be able to hit a low 13 easily.

Definitly need a driver mod too. Only got 2 runs in at the track tonight, sort of a waste but whatever.

My trap speed keeps going up. track is at 2200 above sea level. Extremely warm out there today too. Doesnt help my posi is peg leggin either.
Soon enough ill get better, practice makes perfect!

i would shift that thing higher man at least 5800-5900. im a full bolt on car and i take mine to 6100ish any less for me and it traps and et's lower. its all about finding the best rpm for ur ride. with et streets u should be able to get at least 1.9's on a soft lainch. slip the clutch at 4-5k on the 10 bolt so ur not shocking it. good luck man

I idle launch my car (seriously lol) and I have no problem cracking 1.9x 60's all day on my ET's. Im too much of a wuss to side step my clutch on the weakly 10 bolt so I'll live with it for now.
Elevation and heat are excuses sir! Make the car faster! :)
