Well, I tried using my universal set of MSD wires I payed 100 dollars for some years back on my car and the plug in for the opti is different than on a regular distributor. I gave up and just bought a stock set from oreillys. Im not sure where you can just buy ends for the wires though.
Im gonna guess you have to buy ltx specific wires.

To run them over the valve covers.

I've heard it's not the funnest thing to do. But I don't see why it would be different for a Camaro other than having to buy specials ends.

Lots of patience. I had used a set of msd universal wires and the taylor opti boots thought they began arching soon after. So now I have taylor that a buddy help me make and no more arching. Its pretty easy if you take your time.
There is also a sponsor over on ls1tech that will custom make wires for you if you send him the lenghts. When I first talked to him it was pretty reasonable if I recall , Not much more than a regular set of msds cost wise

thunderracing.com sells an OTVC kit for ~$100. Detailed instructions, super easy to make/put them together. Worst part is install. You'll need someone with super thin fingers to route them in the stock location.

Making your own spark plug wires is one of the easiest things you can do "With a proper Crimp Tool" - I have been using the one from the Thunderacing package for 6 years. The best piece of advice is to make sure you leave enough of the core for the crimp to be secure - Put the boot on before you crimp and use the grease as a lubricant. The directions are very good in the kit.

I've made a few sets... MSD offers a kit for the LT1. They have a few different boot selections (straight and 90 for the opti end). I would suggest getting the pliers since they make the job alot easier.
Look here for the wires (PN 32129 and PN 32139)

If this is your first time I would suggest taking apart a few wires and try rebuilding them without messing them up then you should be ready to tackle the job.

I also recommend the msd lt1 universal set that's what I used the last time. They come with the opti ends already installed, you just have to cut to length and then fix the spark plug ends.
With other brand's wires you will have to use the Taylor opti boot/terminal kit. These can make it a pita, but it can be done you just have to use grease or something slippery to make the boot slide over the wire. Me personally I don't like the taylor spiro pro wires I had two sets that arched. I've also made a set of Accel extreme 9000 wires and used them for almost 3 years with no problems just decided to change them out a few months ago for the msd wires.

I have the LT1 MSD pre-crimped set and they work real nice. I am not sure of the exact model #. I bought the Thunder Racing set. Kind of expensive, but I guess it'll do.

I know this thread is really old, but I wont open a new one for the same thing, I already have a MSD 25 ft wire roll, and the plug terminals and boots, is there any set of terminals for the opti? or I'll just have to reuse the ones from the wires I'm currently using?
