I've been eyeing Nitro Daves plate kit for some time now and i ran across that the full kit on sale for $1150, that includes just about everything you need for a super safe setup. Does anyone have any experience with a kit like this cuz im thinkin im gunna hop on the nitrous wagon becuase my whole heads and cam setup is gunna run me well over $4500 and I'd like to have a lil money left over for the school year, and one thing with nitrous is you dont have to use it all the time when you want the power its the turn of a knob and a flip of a couple switches, anyways enough ranting. Also where do you guys have your bottle mounted?? Ive seen the one inbetween the back seats and then the one for the spare tire well, both have pro's and con's i think. But im kinda nervous bout the whole nitrous thing cuz ive seen plenty of cars go kapowie and i have no personal experince with it. So any advice would be appreciated and any suggestions on ignitions for timing retard??

I would say shoot ray a pm. I think that kit is the better option for the LT1 plates. I have some plates at the shop in my toolbox that put a nozzle behind the throttle body but I do not care for the distribution that you get with them. I personally haven't used that plate but it looks nice and should work well.
As far as timing goes I would recommend the mallory 685. I have had one in my car for three years. I'm still running it right now. They seem to be reliable and I have not had any problems with spark yet.
At first I had my bottle in the hatch in the spare tire well. I then moved it to the driveshaft tunnel and now it is in the center of the hatch area. That is all up to you. The nice thing about having on the tunnel is you can reach back and open the valve from the drivers seat. In the spare tire well out of sight out of mind.

IMO, Dave's kit is the only way to go. It's getting the job done for me and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Dave's plate kit on a few other fast and highly-respectable LT1's at the Shootout (Speed Inc., Chased and 1FASTSS to name a few).
For a street car, I like having the bottle out of sight. People know I have nitrous so I'm not really trying to keep it a secret but sometimes having it out of sight is better. You can always get a remote opener.
For timing retard, either the Mallory 685 or MSD Digital 6 will work just fine. I personally have the MSD and it's pretty easy to hook up with MSD's harness that is sold separately from the box.
I've got a big thread on LS1Tech from a while back that shows my install. But like Mike said, you should give the guys at Nitrous Outlet a call or even Speed Inc. for that matter. Larry are you guys a dealer for them?
Here's a link to the install thread:

yep..as Ray mentioned we are a dealer and love the Nitrous Outlet kits. I run one on my personal car and for every install in shop since becoming a dealer. The guys have really got the kits sorted out and with a lot of cool options for dual purge kits, switch panels, solenoid brackets, etc.
I had the hardline conversion done which looks so much better IMO.
