I went to install my Ported IM and noticed when I removed the TB that the holes were made to fit a 58mm.....

But looking inside it still looked rough so I figured I would replace it just because mine (The one I bought) had more porting work done.

I got it off and I can see some porting right around the lip of the intake runners... so it looks like it was gasket matched well I guess I have an extra manifold to sell not a bad thing to find out.

Then I looked at the heads... they also looked like they had some minor marks but again nothing major so I thought I would ask the guru's here...

Whats this look like to you?

Definately NOT ported.

Possibly gasket matched, but no beneficial portwork.

No problem.

When you do put a set of ported heads on it, It will REALLY wake it up:devil:

Do yourself a HUGE favor and go with a head porter that has solid results.

I really have not seen anything impressive come from patriot. (I'm not saying there have not been any positive results, I just have not read anything good about them. They also have a pretty bad rep in the mustang comunity for shoddy work)

I'd look into Advanced Induction or Llyod Elliot.

Just found these:

The Patriots are 900 Shipped and I keep my Valve Springs etc already running the 847 I have. I am on a budget and I know the car needs heads. I have been keeping my eyes open but it seems everyone selling LE heads wants what they paid not a bad thing but 1300-1400 takes away from the rest of the money I was putting else where.

Then those that are ported but by local builders I never know what to think, we all know our personal local guys but outside of that its well... unnerving.

I will check your links shortly thank you I do agree patriot is not the best but if they give me the heads with the valve I want and they port decently later I would not be too upset.

Dude, call Lloyd. He can set you up with something for 900 if you already have cam and valve springs... Keep in mind his prices include all that stuff. If you're just paying for port work I'd bet he could get you something for 900 that would blow patriots away.

Keep in mind that heads and cam and the heart of your engine and are what make all the power, not an area I would cut costs! I know it may seem expensive now but it'll be even more down the road if you have to redo stuff later! As said before Lloyd can work with what you've got to fit your budget

How does the core thing work then, I have a few sets of heads I have access too.

Guess its time to contact him about some LE1 heads.

Yeah, I'd much rather have the Lloyd Elliot heads, you're just not getting the full potential otherwise.
