i will bring some old school to this board.
the goals for the car are ....
11.0@140mph+
60-0= less than 110ft
0-60 < 3 sec
20mpg on pump gas (ie. 91 octane).
1200hp VERY mild mannered street car.
easly obtainable with the right parts.
few specs on the car.....
1970 Z28 camaro (yes it a real z28) no clone here
496cid twin turbocharged BBC 2- customt76@12lbs(91oct) or 22psi on E85
700r4 overdrive trans.
12 bolt rear 4.10 gears (3.55 soon)
13"front 4 piston calipers- 12"rear 2piston calipers
SC&C uper control arms. boxed "stock" lower with DEL-a-lum bushings
all Autometer gauges,led indicators
7" HID conversion lights
pro-car seats (racing stlye but confort)
6pt roll cage with dual 5pt harness
tangerine orange paint, black stripes
QA1 coilover with 650lbs springs
250 lb/inch rear leaf springs ( poss airride airbar setup comming)
little more progress....i have been lazy so that is the holdup. all mock up is complete. just have to clean, paint and coat different pieces. it gets the job done though. for those wondering custom mp76 .96/ar for each bank. 60mm wastegates on each bank, and 50mm bov going through an custom 850 carb. im getting a FMVB 4l80 built to replace the 700 that is in there now. the headers are 2"id pipes into a 3" collector to the turbo. 3" downpipes and mandrel bent exhaust with full mufflers. i have had it with loud/droning cars. in full street trim if it does not see 1250-1350rwhp i will be really disappointed.
i had to build a custom radiator but everything else can be found at local parts houses. i plan to drive this car so, parts will need replacing in the future. i dont want to wait to order parts like belts, brakes, bearings, hoses etc. one off stuff is nice until you have to replace it.

the combo fills out the wheel wells good. and can go bigge rif need be. the rear brakes. i decided to stay with 12 rear rotors so i could still fit my et streets for the track if need be.

F'n bad ass! I love 2nd gens! My first car was almost a 70 RS Z28. Gold with black stripes. The guy wouldn't sell it to me for whatever reason so I had to settle for a 79 Berlinetta as my first car.

Wow!!!!
Man you don't f**k around when it comes to a build, lol!
Any more specs on the BBC? I see it all painted orange. Iron block? Aluminum heads? The only reason i'm asking is BBC's weigh a lot on their own, and you have a good amount of additional weight up front. I'd say the acceleration numbers are going to get crushed, but the braking numbers will be hard to do. That motor must weigh over 800lbs.

Amazing. I have been debating getting rid of my car and getting a 68-74 nova or a 2nd gen camaro and building a single turbo 76mm small block and dropping it in either one. Cant get the wife to go along with it......LOL
Can I ask why big block and not small block. That 1200hp is easily reachable with a built twin turbo small block?

all alum bbc. ground and painted like factory gm. calies crank, wisco pistons....bla bla bla.... it takes less money in the long run to make the same power from a bbc than a sbc and keep it RELIABLE. everybody does twins on a sbc.....i like to be different. i had not seen a STREET twin turbo BBC in teh 2nd gen when i started the build. there is no replacement for displacement..except for boost. so i decided to do both. he car used to weigh 4180 with me in it and a 8-71 huffer. probably 3900 and change now.
i played with nitrous, then centrifical, then roots now turbo. out of all of them i like the turbo's best. the motor idles at 900rpms, spools by 2800 and purrs like a kitten due to the turbos and mufflers on eht car. the last trap sped i had on old setup was 10.01@ 140ish. this will have a least 450 more hp and up to 900 more on tap if needed. i want to find a happy medium to drive , race and enjoy without much work. no changing tunes, or race gas. just MAYBE tires, maybe. i can still bolt my et streets up to the rear and clear brakes if the 60fts are needed.
after going to the ltx shootout and tuning other's chassis i have refound the motivation i need to complete this work in progress. really everything except the turbos youcan get or find at your local auto parts stores and this one is goin t o get driven.....not a garage or trailer queen.
That car is epic badass. Without a doubt.

11.0@140+
sounds like you want to play with Supras, lol. Honestly though, I don't see why it takes a TT BBC to do it when they do with single turbo straight 6s. Either way, love the combo and would always take the BBC over a jap motor anyday.

Well can't argue with that. I took another look at that car and it is amazing. Great work man.

Build looks amazing! Car definitely seems like it will be an adrenalin rush. One question though, is your bank 2 compressor entering the intake stream at 90*? Seems like angling it a hair would help flow and reduce turbulence.
Keep it up! I can't wait to see finished pictures and videos, lets see the interior a bit more too!

no its about 42 degrees. its the way the pic was taken. optical illusion. this set of headers and intake was to make sure i had my numbers right. stainless headers and alum intake tube are all in the works right now. think of those as temporary and a figment of your imagination.
