Is it possible to use the LS1 rear brakes/rotors on our LT1's? I know the e-brake set up is different, but could it be done? I never use the e-brake anyway.
Reason I ask, is I have a set of C5 front and rear brake calipers that I want to put on. I know there is no added performance, it's a looks thing.

It can be done, and it will give you some extra stopping power. I believe you'll want to run the LS1 e-brake cable, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I know this is an older post, but I believe other than the location of the caliper being on the front side of the rotor vs the rear, the rear caliper and rotor setup for the LS1 F-body is the exact same as the LT1 F-body.
To my knowledge, just the front caliper and rotors are different.

I've done a little research. The rear LS1/C5 rotors are about 1/2 inch wider in diameter so I figure if I switch out the backing plates I should be good to go. Hopefully I'll get around to this here in the next month or so.

yes you definatly need to at least switch out the backing plates. if your swapping rear ends at any point that would be a really good time to switch to the C5 brakes because all you have to do is order the rear end thats set up for the LS1 style calipers.

I've run front and rear LS1 brakes for a while now. Everything works fine, however LS1 brakes are obviously larger and make it more difficult to run 15" drag wheels. Otherwise it's a nice upgrade. For the rears just swap the backing plates with everthing else and that's it.

Don't forget the rear brake line that goes from caliper to caliper without that you won't get the job done.
