Finally got a chance to race this guy. He's cool but one of those shit talkers who told me to my face that lt1's suck balls and even his old 3rd gen would destroy them all day long. Their junk they wont run theyre slow theyre just a joke etc, etc, etc.
Well has this really nice 02 SS its dark blue, gun metal gray C6 Z06 wheels, CME, etc. Shiny car.
There's a lot of mystery surrounding what's done to the car but he finally got the owner to post a bunch of specs on it and basically it was setup for a D1SC and then the owner took it off when he traded it in for a family vehicle.
Regardless though, it's a 9.7:1 comp (pretty low but not terrible) worked heads, and cam LS1. Should run pretty good right?

I just bolted on my new MT ET Streets today and had the chance to practice a few launches. We go from a dig with someone flagging us off and we are going to let off whoever gets to 100 first, since at this particular place we haven't marked off an exact 1/4 yet...
Well the arms drop and I just jump out HARD on his ass. I mean had him by prob 4 cars before I shifted out of 1st.
Long story short is I dont know how bad I got him, but it was AT LEAST 6-7 car lengths, minimum.
Chalk one up for the LT1. Maybe he won't talk so much shit on them now. He made all kinds of excuses and said we need to go from a roll next time. I said "hey if that's what the ls1 needs I guess I can give it to you"... :jest:
Second race is my buddies cammed / ported / pullied etc GTP.
It's pretty built up but still needs bigger injectors and a tune. Has a Big cam that lopes like a sob and an e cutout.
I didn't jump out as hard on him, maybe half a car but kept pulling away and got him by about 2-2.5 on the big end.
It's funny, I really thought where both cars would catch me is on the big end but ever since I put the headers on the bitch loves the upper rpms. Doensn't struggle to rev at all and really helped it up top.
Make that 2 for the old junky LT1.
