Ok

well I have just about had it with my monsoon and mp3 and fm transmitter combo.

So this is what I was thinking.

well somehow there has to be a way to make an input for the stock monsoon cd player to make use of the mp3 without the fm transmitter.

anybody have any ideas.

my only idea is that some monsoon systems used a cd changer and somehow tying into that input since the receiver doesnt see a cd changer just an input signal.

anybody have any ideas???

you need something like these interfaces here:

http://www.tss-radio.com/cars-with-external-changers-pontiac-c-45_302_320.html

or

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4996_Scosche+DCGMAUX18+-+DCGMAUX18B.html

do a little research to make sure you get the right ones, as these are just examples of GM units. they are out there, and you must make sure that your monsoon radio has the CD changer plug in the back. rumor has it that many of the monsoon decks w/ the CD player didnt have this plug and that you need a monsoon w/ a tape deck.

i've seen the monsoon specific interface before. if i find it again, ill post it.

This would probably do the trick...

Cool man, thanks for the help, I really appreciate the advice.

Do you happen to have a picture of the monsoon with the CD changer plug?

when I pull mine out I will take a picture to post on here

I think someone on LS1tech did a writeup on how they installed an auxiliary port on their stock HU. I'll try a little searching later, but it seems like the above would work.

Well I found the write up on ls1tech, you can hook into the cd player wiring inside the Head unit or the cd changer wiring input, OR you can put a fm modulator in line with the antenna cable

for the FM modulator you need
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-HNoRZFgKHad/p_142FMMOD01/Scosche-FM-MOD01-Modulator.html?search=142FMMOD01&tp=1287
and

and
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040GM10/Antenna-Adapter.html?search=12040GM10&tp=2569

Or you can break open the Head unit and wire it yourself.
here is the write up

and a thread I started with another method

alright guys, I will let you know how it works out

here is my stereo

it has the three input jacks, so does this mean that my car originally had a cd changer?
