My 1996 Formula A4 is bone stock and i recently discovered it stops me at 118, do your cars do this? because its not your typical GM limiter where it just shuts you down, my car acts like its at the top of a gear and refuses to shift, just bounces off the limiter?

Are you at the top of 3rd gear?

If you back out a little, will it bump to 4th?

yea i think it is the top of 3rd. i havent tried backing out to get it into 4th. so im guessing these cars dont have a limiter?

Some cars had the limiter, the ones without the Z rated tires from the factory. It should be at or around 115 though.

In my experience/research, third should carry you to about 126 with 3.23s, and it's just starting with the 2.73s. At 118, if it's the top of third, it sound like you've got 3.42s.

Or there's something else going on.

does you speedometer read to 150? If not, you probably got non-z rated tires stock giving you a speed governor at 115 like someone else stated.

ok, i did it again today and hits hitting the limiter at 4ooo in third at about 115-120 so definitly not redline, i have 235's so my car isnt a factory z rated tire car, and my speedo does go to 150....ohwell, my trifecta tune i plan on ordering will take care of it haha

Look for RPO code QLC or QFZ for factory Z-rated tires.
