Waking up at the ass crack of dawn usually leaves me in zombie mode until about noon. But today I was woken by the sound of 2 LT1 cars smashing down the freeway.

I'm headed towards the house, minding my own business, when I spot a black 93-97 coming up behind at a speed greater than which I was traveling. I then noticed it had a set of C5 wagon wheels, its lowered, tinted windows, then it hit me. I went to school with this kid and recently have seen him around town in this car. It has a nice exhaust tone, mods are unknown. I havent had the chance to talk to him since I've seen him recently.

He comes around me probably doing 80 and hammers it into the floor. So he rolls out about 30 lengths on me as he comes up on traffic that he cant pass. So I'm thinking, "He must not want to throw down seeing how he just blew by without even offering me a chance"

So I take this traffic as an advantage and catch up slowly but surely.

I come up next to him, pop it into 5th, I see him crack his passenger window slightly (im on his passenger side), I can see him slowing down gradually. So I slip it into 4th, puts me about 3200 rpm, thats not gonna cut it. So as he drops a few more MPH as I wiggle her into 3rd and I'm sitting about 4200 rpm. He downshifts to whatever gear he preferred (I believe he was a 6 speed car as well, but could possibly obtain stock 3.42s), I honk it off as usual and stomp her WOT.

I roll out about a car in 3rd, stuffed it into 4th and carried another car or so until 4th ran out of umphf. I shut it down because I was coming up behind a car or two.

I peel out and around the cars and it takes him a minute to catch up but eventually he did and as he passed he looked over and threw a thumbs up as I did in return.

I race on the street quite frequently but its usually a set up race so these random races get my all giddy inside. Especially another LT1 car.

Double woot!

Good job!
I never really cared all that much for setup races... it's the random occurances that are so much fun.
