Always trying to stay a step ahead with my research http://s-seriesforum.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Does anyone have any experience with powertrax Lock Right lockers for AutoX or road course applications?

I see they would be fine for normal driving, and work excellent for drag racing, but I WILL be on a road course, and would kinda like to give AutoX a try again.

The ~$300 price is a definite plus, and lots of the reviews that I see are favorable (longevity, quietness <not "quiet", but neither is my truck http://s-seriesforum.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif>, etc)... but have difficulty finding anything relating to corners.

I found a few mentions of people who WISHED they had, or planned to go with the powertrax, but no one with experience.

I'm afraid I'd either have to stay out of the gas on corners, or would immediatly be thrown into doughnuts if i did get on it. I THINK it would still be locked upon deceleration because of the forces, but not sure about that either.

The one time I have been on a track (in a 350z), I was driving VERY aggressive, and basically let the rear kind slip around as I came in hot.... the ABS was kicking in off and on as I LIGHTLY applied brakes. I was also being pretty heavy on the gas on the exit causing either some wheel spin, or the rear to step out ~1ft. I'm afraid the "locked" or "not locked" action would end up throwing me for a loop... literally.

I EXPECT the truck to be difficult to drive (no power steering, no ABS, Auto,...), but don't want to get a rear diff that'll make it no fun and frustrating.

Hey man, dont want to steal your thread but maybe you can answer a question so I dont have to start a whole new one.
What all do you need to install that locker. You caught my attention with the ~300 dollars. lol. Im getting the one wheel peel at the track bad and need to patch up my ten bolt, and this seems like an interesting option to fix it.

Pretty sure they make one that will bolt right into your rear, but not POSITIVE. The ones I've priced replace the center chunk in an open rearend (and are 8.5in, not 7 5/8). No need to set gears, just pull center section and replace. Look up the powertrax website, and it should give a quick run down. I don't know too much about rearends, but if they don't make one for the posi rear carrier, maybe you could grab an open carrier from an S-10 with a 7 5/8 rear.

They make a quieter one (higher price) that they suggest for regular driving, but is the same basic design and install.
