Since my Formula has been gone, I've been kinda depressed (not really..... But I've been miserable not having something fun to drive around in). I went up to my friends cottage Saturday night in the Adirondacks. My friend and his sister went up with me in my Trailblazer.

I was talking to my friend the whole way there about cars in general (hes got a 68 Galaxy with a 428 cobra motor in there) and I told him I wished I would have bought another F-Body (LS1 or LT1) and bought a cheap DD. We move on from that and he tells me how he takes his 01 Dodge Ram through the trails in the mountains all the time, and I thought... BINGO!!! LETS PUT THIS 4WD TO GOOD USE!!! I was a bit concerned about how well it would go through some of them, but to my suprise, it kicked ass! I was going through big ass mud pits and up and down decent sized hills. Then I got thinking... Why dont I lift my trailblazer and put some mud tires on it? That would be kick ass!

I was really nervous at first, going around all the puddles because I didnt want to get my truck dirty (I'm a detailer, I'm supposed to keep my stuff clean and I've always kept my cars spotless). After being called a "a little bitch" by his sister, I knew I was doing it all wrong. I started goin through all the puddles and had a blast. I got stuck once, kicked it into 4wd low, and got right out. I had a blast and am now loving the trailblazer. Its no jeep, but it got the job done and did way better than I expected.

Now I just got to find somewhere that sells at least a 4in lift kit for my truck and get some mud tires and I'll be good to go. I cant find anywhre that has one, so if anyone knows of something, please send me a PM because the biggest kit (which isnt really a kit) is 2in that I could find.

I'm going back up in 3 weeks so I'll take some pictures (wont have a lift kit on or tires yet).

just be carful, it's just as easy to break something on the trails as it is at the track. And also I would get an aggressive all terrain instead of a mud tire, because I'm sure most of your driving will not be in the mud. I haven't had any issues with my bfg all terrains, and a buddy of mine and some of his buddies that go muddin, and on trails, have been impressed with the nitto terra grapplers on his truck. Neither tire howls going down the raod and has good road manners, and lasts a while. But that's just my opinion.

+1 for the A/T's. General Tire makes the Grabber AT2, it's a good tire as well. I have some Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revo's on my lifted Grand Cherokee and have yet to get stuck. They're a great tire but a little expensive. However, they're going to last twice as long as my BFG A/T's I used to have on there.

Great, you are turning into a hillbilly.

I'll see you at New Era's open house and you'll be the only guy wearing a flannel.

Go buy another f-bod! They are cheap!

BFG A/T's are the chit! i have had them on all my trucks and recommend them to every one. on my old 1990 K1500 they pulled out jeeps that where sitting on swampers! (though the jeep drivers where retarded!)

Great, you are turning into a hillbilly.

its the best way to be some times!

Personally, I don't really like the BFG A/T.
1. They don't clean out very easy once you go through mud. Go through one mud hole, or a wet trail and you won't have traction anywhere.
2. They wear horribly on some trucks and need to be rotated every oil change or 2. although, this depends on driver and truck.

But they are a pretty good all around tire. There is a reason they aren't called a Mud Terrain :D

Trail riding is FUN. I don't have a 4x4, but been out a couple times in my brother's Jeep. Hopefully we'll go out soon... he just got new bumper, winch, lift, mud-terrains, and gears. :)

I used to be REALLY into trail riding and breaking tie-rods and I can admit that the Camaro is MUCH more fun.

But its your world man, I just live in it. Have fun with it!
