Amazed me to see this

I remember in the last couple years people putting up the Confederate Flag, and causing all kinds of media hype and bullshit. I was recently in the Tampa, FL area and saw a BIG ass Confederate Flag flying high above the overpass we we're on. As my buddy scrambled to take a picture I noticed down below the overpass was a memorial or small park of some sorts with this flagpole and a plaque sitting in the middle of a nice courtyard.
While we were in Tampa, we asked the guys at the shop about it and they said the state had to pass a law to put this thing up. Some sort of Historical Memorial or something.

Anyway, sorry for the book, but it just amazed me to see this. Let alone have it be something government funded.

Actually its not a real Saleen, and its not mine either. We were on our way to/from the dyno in the Temple Terrace area when we saw the flag and took the pic. I did build the car though, check it out...

The swastika meant love as well. Theres a whole neighborhood that is actually in the shape of a swastika from pre WWII. No biggie. They didn't tear it down. As long as you stay away from the red black and white I'm sure it wouldn't be so bad.

Most people that stayed in school past the 9 grade and actually learned something would agree. That its nothing to be offended by at all. I have an old confederate flag in my room. I wont fly one outside, because Id rather fly an American flag, and I know a lot of people would look at it the wrong way. I look at it as respecting my forefathers that died in the civil war for what they believed was right at the time. We actually have a small family graveyard with graves from the Civil War. Really brings things into perspective to go look at them.

Thats stupid, especially being that far up north. ALOT of people fly one to stir stuff up. One of my friends in high school drove his truck around the school with a giant one that said, "the south will rise again" one day. :rolleyes: We had to have a school meeting to prevent "Race wars" because of that.

To me, there is a time to have one, such as a memorial like the one in the OP, but sometimes its ignorant to fly one.
