I've never had any problem with VHT cracking and I don't really see how it could happen. How did you paint it? Did you wetsand?

no i cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and i let it dry.. and i put it on and i wipped it off real quick because it was not evenly coated on the taillight.., and it cracked the actual plastic on the taillight!!! wtf?

Well... I'd never "wipe off paint" I'm assuming the paint was wanting to stick and you rubbed too hard on it.
Next time, let it dry and wet sand it down to lighten the coat and give it another coat. That being said I'd also have your friend do his own work or make sure he knows you aren't responsible for breaking it, especially if you aren't being paid for your efforts.

i literally wiped it off 2 seconds after i sprayed it on.. it came off like water.. i barely had to even wipe on it.

I've wiped off paint quickly too if it looked assey. I've never had shit crack. Either the taillights were already cracked and you didn't notice it until they were clean or I have no clue.

I bet they were already cracked too.
Questions to the OP - When you wiped off the paint were the cracks noticeable because the paint filled in the cracks? If so they were already there and you should not owe your buddy new tailights.

the cracks where white. like the cracks went all the way through the plastic. water was able to enter the tallights after this. do you think temperature change can do this???

That would have to be a pretty big temp change... my car sees ~30* some nights and then 70-80* the next day and I haven't had a cracking problem

I dont like working on friends cars for that reason, but I let them know if something gets messed up by accident Im not responsible and they agree. I do work for them for free so they dont expect me to fix something like that. For instance I was helping my friend put his xpipes on his rustang, I was nervous as hell I was gonna break off one of his manifold studs. Got to the last one and noticed the dumb ass that connected the stock H to the manifold cross threaded the hell out of it and we couldnt finish the job.
