It was originally designed for TPI motors.

It was originally designed for TPI motors.I know Ligenfelter early LT1 Corvette's had them.

That ad is true. That is a VERY rare piece. Lingenfelter made them for the LT1 specific motors for a short time until it was deemed to be not worth it. If I am remembering right the lengthened runners made it act too much like an L98 and choke off in the upper RPM's too much.

You are correct they made a ton of tq down low but hp dropped off above 5800 rpms.

wow, you guys have never heard of or seen a superram? must be alot of youngsters in here. way back before the LT1, these were a replacement for TPI setups and allowed them to extend the rpm range of the L98 motors by 1000rpm or so. They did make some of these for the LT1 when that motor was introduced, but quickly discovered the stock intake was better by far and stopped producing them (they do still make them as an upgrade for the TPI motors tho)

still availible today thru Summit or Jegs, but only for TPI cars. Alot of C4 Vettes are currently using this intake. very outdated now though, with the availiblity of the stealthram, and the new ProFlow edelbrock manifold due out soon

Heard about them while researching sheet metal intakes, read it's pretty pointless and experimental.

the pizza box...Like Chased stated...pointless at this point in time. Your 1/2 way to a sheetmetal at that point.
