Here are a couple of my most recent shots. Took these in June I believe. They are edited, and I know it shows, but I love the way they turned out! I know some of you guys may have seen this car before, well probably a lot on ls1tech.
The story behind that is, Russ (phantomzer0) and I share the "phantomzer0" screen name over on ls1tech. We're twins, so it's just easier ;)
So for those who didn't know, now you do. :secret:
I hope you guys like it. I've spent a lot of time and money on this car. It's kind of funny too, because I'm dying to get rid of it and get a new car, but I just love it. You can't beat the looks of a nice, clean lt1 SS. You just can't.

Very nicely done. Next mod, Tint?

Well, I can't do tint unfortunately. When I bought the car the back and sides were all done. I got hassled daily for the tint by the same asshole cop. He made me tear it off. basically, id rather not spend the money only to have to take it back off, you know?
The back is still nice and dark though :D

Lol, yeah. I switched the spoiler cause I wanted it to be a bit taller than the stock SS spoiler, and I wanted that bad ass LED :gr_devil:

Yea the ls1 style spoiler is sweet! Is GM still carrying the LED brakelight for them? All of the aftermarket companies i've talked to say they don't carry them anymore because they were always burning out.

I think you need to contact SLP. I'm sure they still stock them.

Sometimes I gotta agree man. I love how much cleaner the car looks without the t-top bar on the top of the car, and those rubber things on the sides that stick out.
But on the other hand, I love t-tops...
Thanks everyone for the kind words! :metal:

Here are some updated shots of the headunit!
As far as I know, I was the first to have a Pioneer Avic model in a Camaro. This is my bezel version 3. The last and final version!!

How hard was it to put the 2001+ wheel in it?
SoulReaver
11-10-2008, 11:16 PM
E to the mother fuckin' Z! Seriously. All you need is a steering wheel puller, which you can rent from autozone for like 20 bucks. You get the 20 back when you return the tool. I think you need a socket for the nut on the steering colum screw and a torx bit for the airbag.
All you do is unplug the airbag harness. It's in that little flap right above where your feet go. The thing with the trunk release in it. Use the torx bit on the back of the airbag/wheel to remove it. Unclip the air bag from the wheel and set it aside. Use a socket wrench to remove the nut that is on the steering column. Now you use the steering wheel puller to remove the wheel. All you do is screw 3 screws into the designated points, and use a wrench to twist a little bolt built into the puller. The wheel will eventually just pop off. It is gonna take some muscle to get that puller to start budging, but fear not, it will go.
Now all you do is put the new wheel on over the shaft and use that nut you took off to screw the wheel down. Simple.
I will say this though, if your interested in doing the swap, you need to buy a 1997 Chevy Lumina Airbag. It took me a while to figure this one out, so I'm saving you a ton of work. The airbag harnesses are different from 97-98, and 99-2002. The 97 Lumina bag will fit perfectly and clip directly into your existing harness. Bada bing!
If you need help, just let me know. It takes about 10 minutes from start to finish.

i just know from experience cuz i bought my car with alot of the trim painted red and some of the grey panels painted black. i had to paint the red pieces black and i hate how it looks different than the dash. but if you can live with it than thats cool. i give you props for sticking with what you think is cool. but i know suggestions are always nice too
SoulReaver
11-11-2008, 01:48 AM
I definitely appreciate your suggestion! It's just that it looked kind of crappy in the grey color, it just didn't look right. So I went ahead and had it painted black to match the color of the car.

Hmm, I had wondered why the 97 lumina bag was needed. I talked to you or your brother on tech a while back about the steering wheel swap (I didn't realize at the time you two were sharing the ID over there), but never got around to asking why the lumina bag was needed.
I am planning the swap and already have the wheel, and actually I already have an airbag from an 02 camaro - two of them. One of them I got with an ebony 02 dash and the other I got with an 02 steering wheel. I am thinking since I already have these bags, I will try to pick up a piece of the harness with the right connector for the bag and then splice it in with my existing wiring, it's only two wires. I would rather it be plug and play but with already having two other bags I'd really like to avoid having to track down another one. Especially since the bags I have were both basically almost free.
I'm glad I ran across this though, I was planning on doing the swap in the next week or so. I'll be glad to finally get the new wheel on, the old style wheel looks terrible with the 97+ style dash. I did the ebony dash/console swap already, just need to get the wheel in there to finish it off, and need to swap out the door panels still.
BTW- Nice looking SS! You just need a vacuum and some new interior shots  I love hardtops! Aside from 93 cars, it seems like there isn't many out there. at least compared to t-top cars.

Thanks dude. I would have vacuumed but at the time is was hot as fuck out and I had somewhere to be. I basically just pulled it out of my drive way and snapped the shots really quick.
I would try those bags before anything. I could be wrong about them not fitting. I mean, maybe they do?

I hear you on the heat, I can't stand the stuff!
I will probably take the bag loose on the old wheel and look at the connector sometime in the next couple days to scope it out. I'll post back what I find. If it turns out it'll just plug in, I will probably go ahead and swap it out right there. I already have a puller for the wheel too.
