hi guys i am having this big probelm.... i'll start by talking about my car it is a 1994 camaro z28 it has headers full ex. spec 2 clutch ported and polished heads CAI short throw...and thats about it ..... i just got it out from the winter and i couldn't tell any probelms with it because i just kind of forgot how it pulled ... but any way the probelm orginaly was oil press it would be ok when riven around normal but at WOT in the top of second and third it will actually drop in pressure and the motor almost seems to pop and like shut down a little before 5 k ...... i raced a bone stock 1990 supercoupe and only put about to cars on him but however in secong the oil went to almost zero around 5 k so i shifted and it was ok in third but it feels like its missing 100 horse power .... i raced a stock automatic elcamino with a just 350 turd and only did about 5 cars on him and a bone stock integra 93 gsr i only but about 3 on him..... this is a discrase to the lt1 name and i want this probelm sloved and i want rematchs there lots of talk doubting the lt1's around here now and it needs changed...
.

please ask any questions to help solve ..... thanks so much .

So you parked the car for winter with an oil pressure problem, then got it out after winter, and you still have an oil pressure problem?

I don't want to sound like a smart ass, but did you really think it was gonna get better by itself?

Now, to get serious,

1. How many miles on the motor? Orignal miles or rebuilt?
2. Is there any knocking or strange noises you can here from the motor?

I would start with a mechanical pressure gauge to check your pressure.
And maybe an oil change and have a sample of the oil sent in for an anyalisis to check and see if you have any wear metals in it.

there was no oil pressure probelms when it got put away.
it had one when i got it back out i think that was because over the winter when we went to start it it got floooded bad a couple times.
then we figureed oh ..... the oil presuure probelm is bc of all that gas in there so i changed it and put a bit heavier oil in it and there was a ton of gas in the oil when i changed it. the new oil did good with the pressure. but i changed it again because i used cheap stuff to see if the bad oil was the probelm i just put mobile one in it yesterday and it has great pressure driven normally its only under wot that it drops once in a while in the high rpms in second or third...
like i said sometimes u hear a pop at around 5 k then the motor just wont rev any higher it just feels like there is no power like there was
the motor has about 5 k on it ..rebuilt

there are no sounds from the motor but there is a little rattle around the tranny area and when reved the rattle gets louder corresponding with the rpms....

i took a plug out and it was pretty clean nothing that would hold it back.
wires not sure yet but i would belive they are fine for the spark is nice..

there is a mechincal oil pressure gauge on the car.

Do you have a high volume pump on the car? If so do you have an aftermarket pan? If you have stock pan/high volume pump you could be sucking it dry...

If not, it sounds like you may have a pickup problem

nope pump and pan are factory...... oil press seems to be fine now since the oil was changed...

could it be fuel pump or filter ?

i have a messed up fuel gauge and i've let it run dry a couple times .?

Possibly. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and check it. Id change the filter just for maintenence. I usually change mine once every year.

also i check the oil every now and then and sometimes there is somewhat of a white foam type shit on it ......

i thought head gasket but idk??

should i do a compression check ?
