i have a flamming river and like it. minimal effort to turn the wheels, but it seems like they dont turn as tightly, if i recall correctly its 3 turns from lock to lock. i think they retail for 450ish new.

Second on the MadMan...picked it up at a good price from a member of one of the other boards. Its a nice looking piece...still need to put it in the car though.

Heard good things about Madman. Talk to Kyler I think he was unhappy with his so maybe he's selling it?

I have priced most of the "kits" and they all seem to be just stupidly expensive. I have a brand freakin new Flaming River manual Mustang II rack. The rack itself is at Summit for around $225 iirc. I got it on ebay for $114 shipped :) .In order to fit it to my F-bod I need some $$$$$ bump steer kit and a $$$$$ steering joint. Total BS if you ask me. Basically those guys are charging about $200-$300 for the ends and the shaft, which is highway robbery. Don't even get me started on those alternator relocation brackets.... A piece of metal,a belt, and 3 bolts with a spacer-----$175. Realistically, it's about 3 dollars worth of hardware minus the belt.

I plan on looping my lines for now. When I get around to doing a manual rack I'm just gonna get the Summit pinto rack and weld on the mounting brackets from Racecraft Inc. Madman has good stuff but it is expensive. If you want to just bolt up parts go with Madman, if you can fab and weld make one yourself!

It would be easy to buy new parts and do a manual rack for around $400. But your off to a good start on the ebay find.

I've seen low mount alternator kits fo $100-120. ;)

I have the BMR kit, no complaints. When I bought mine it had alot of do it yourself fab that had to be done. Back then it was only 370 for the kit. Now they offer it ready to go and the price went up. I had to make my steering shaft and bump steer. They provided the materials, I just had to make it fit.

No i wish i had a manual rack. I tried the looped lines trick and it was NOT fun, safe, or easy to turn. Which is why I now have P/S. If i did have a manual rack or an auto it would've been fine. but being a m6 with a touchy clutch that wasn't broken in, it was just too much to do and wasn't enjoyable at all.

I completely agree with yu. Some of these parts are outrageous. The alternator relocation mount is a good example. But you guys with the manual racks. How easy is it to steer with a factory set of wheels and tires? Or do all of you run skinnies?

This can be done for around 4-450

I've only had skinnies on the car since the rack went on.
