Wiring tach/shift light

Where is the best place to get a tach signal for a tach/shift light? the sheet says neg. side of coil, but thought i heard it may be bad for the ign to hook up there. IDK i could be wrong.

also anyone know which wire it is?

passangerside, remove the kick panel, look at the blue connector C230, pin A13 (white wire) tap into that for tach output :)

ok so i looked on shoebox's website and found c230 is the blue one. but when i got under there the wires were a,b,c,d.... so i just tapped into the only all white wire, and it didn't work. there was also a white wire with black stripe, but im not sure
