OVERVIEW:
as some of u know at the end of july i was driving home from work and got rearended on 71 south. i was going 25mph in the slow lane with my hazards on bc i wanted to be cautious and this is what happened.......
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j49/btownka71/Picture109-1.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j49/btownka71/Picture120-2.jpg
So....i bought a buddy (skinnies) 1996 formula roller that came with q1a's and a wire tucked engine bay and some other goodies for 1700ish. then i sold my full suspension set up on off the camaro except for the spohn 1in rear sway.
GOALS:
make a fun weekend car that can compete for the bolt on m6 record (11.805@113.96) and run mid 11's on the bottle
parts from camaro (denzel) thats getting used: 80k lt1 w/ 1.6rr and manley springs, t56, moser 9in with spool, ls1 rear brakes, and 4:11's, draglites, Titainium Retainers, pro 5.o shifter, acpt carbon fiber driveshaft, and some others im forgetting
parts adding to the engine/chassis from the camaro:
kirkey pro street seats, elec. water pump, nano kit, umi front k-member/lower a arms, umi adj lca's and panhard, bmr extreme tq arm, pirate subframes, battery relocation, manual brakes, and a few other odd and ends.
race weight goal: 2850
9/2/2008
finally started tearing into my project last nite (been moving into a new place). worked about 2 hours and got alot done.
buddy took the front bumper stuff and fenders off of denzel
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j49/btownka71/Picture019-2.jpg
took the moser 9in out and got a closer look at the damage to the passenger side spring cup

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j49/btownka71/Picture012-1.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j49/btownka71/Picture011-1.jpg
went outside and worked on the formula (nightmare)
took out the carpet and seats since im saving for kirkey's and ozite carpet. took out all 4 rear speakers (not gonna run a cd player, making a custom gauge holder deal in the cd player hole), the auto stuff, and the ebrake assembly.
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j49/btownka71/Picture021-2.jpg
9/15
the camaro now has the tranny, all rear suspension, and dash all out. starting on the motor here in a few. i ordered UMI chromoly double adj lca and panhard bar last week.
picked up a ls1 slp lid setup and two 275/60/15's to put on my draglites from a local tonight along with the custom alternator bracket that levi made for his old 383 pro setup. thanks for the hook up's fella's http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/thumb.gif
will be ordering the pa k member in a few days. still deciding if i should order it with the pinto setup to run a manual rack or not.
a local lsx guy is in the process making some nice custom seat brackets for the kirkleys http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/pirate.gif i got to sit in a car tonight with the 17in seat for the driver side http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/yup.gif ill prolly order the same seat setup that he is rolling with (17in ds and 19in ps)
thats all i got done so far. ill get some recent pics up when my camera charges http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/wavey.gif

tonight me and a buddy worked on the camaro for about 3 hours. cut the front core support out, pulled the motor, pulled engine/trans harness, pulled the whole pedal assembly, pulled slave cylinder and clutch master, took out the master and booster, started taking off the body harness, we took out the stock k member and front suspensuon. all thats left is finishing the body harness, line lock and brake lines then its going to the crusher :headbang:

b/c he was on slicks and it was raining cats and dogs. but it was a construction zone so the speed limit was actually only 45. and he was in the slow lane with his hazards on.

well guys i got the motor, tranny and stock k member in. im now debating on either doing the pa racing k member or a cc503 cam lol. also picked up a 15lb nano nitrous bottle and a 15lb nano kit for a good deal from nano then bought the brm extreme tq arm and subframes connectors off road pirate 1's car (collin). ima finish up some grinding this friday, put the stock tq arm on and ds, adjust my rear suspension a tad, and start it :)
i also have to figure out why my clutch master cylinder is getting hard and bending. either i need to move it over a tad or the clutch master cylinder is bad (could have been when i was pushed the pedal down without the slave hooked to the tranny to see if the rod was straight, which could ahve easily done it  )

When is Frank gonna be done T? would have started this weekend but i got an obd2 starter (yes there different) so my buddy bought over the bolts for the obd2 starter so it will start next weekend. it will be at the track on motor in march. getting the cage and bmr extreme tq arm installed my road pirate one in February. ima order the manual brake/line lock kit beg. of January and technically i COULD drive it but prolly wont  i also need to figure out my clutch mater cylinder issue too this coming weekend. goal is my feb to have the battery relo done, k member, manual rack, brakes, and kirkleys all in. ill have to see how the money situation is before i go counting my chickens before they hatch so to say. i totaled up 2300 in parts that i need before the ltx shootout  (which i will prolly toast my lt4 clutch during the event leaving 6k side steps on the bottle)

Well gents, I got a lot done this weekend on frank. I figured out the starting issue. Somehow the clutch fork got wedged in the bell housing. Idk how I put it on right the first time. Anywho frank now turns over. I didn't want to start it at 2am with open y pipe lol so that will have to wait. This was also my clutch master issue. I'm just glad my starting and clutch issue was a small problem. I put the stock tq arm on. I need to adjust my sway bar since It setup on the 9in for the camaro. Also deleted the oil cooler. I think I'm going to run 3/8 hose from the back of my stteam lines up to the fronnt of the radiator where skinnies ran it. Besides that its just throwing fluid in the tranny and rad. Hopefully I don't run into any other bumps in the road and it fires up
Oh bought some goodies this weekend from 385z28. Flaming river manual steering rack, back up new altie and opti, waterpump housing that ill get the heater holes welded and throw my ewp on, and poly motor mounts . Ill throw the rack and mounts on when after I get a aftermarket k member which I'm still searching for a used one.
All in all I think my march goal to be done for all motor is going good. may 8th is my goal for the jug just in time to do some test and tune for the ltx shootout

might want to add a decent clutch to the mix. i know frist hand the lt4 doesn't like any type of sticky tires and high rpm launches. i would leave around 3-4k and tried a 5500 once and the car just sat there and the motor bounced off the limiter.

Ok, well it fires up and idels fine but when u apply gas it gets to much fuel and cuts out. Now the c105 plug is not plugged in which is data serial, injector fuse number 10, and other stuff that i know i dont need. The body harness is 96 and engine harness is 94. Would this create the said problem? Im getting no cel's either. Ill go through the engine harness with a fine comb again to make sure i got everything where it should

sounds like when i switched both of my temp sensors over to a dual temp sensor in the water pump. i had nothing to go by as far as wireing it up since no one had done it and i had a wire switched. it started fine but sounded like i had 3-4 plug wires crossed when i touched the gas. luckly that was the only thing i changed at the time and got it right the second time i hooked up the wires otherwise i would have been lost.

i found out the issue. the gas guage read a lil under 1/4. i did some tests and found out i wasnt getting fuel. i knew the twin pumps were good. so i poured 3 gallons of 91 in and fired right up  either the gas gauge is slightly off or the small tilt on the jack stands did it. it idles high but i have a vac leak i need to take of
things i need to do this weekend: adjust my rear sway, add tranny fluid, add some washers to stabilize the clutch master cylinder on the firewall, wire up my brake lights and trunk release, do some misc things on the motor, cut off some front framage and a few interior things. if i have time put the dash back in
i need to take off the waterpump, opti and replace with a new opti (my was having a high rpm miss) and throw on the welded timing cover and csr waterpump http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/headbang.gif
that leaves febuary with all i need to do is do my battery relocation and get over to collins so he can toss in the cage, subframes, and bmr extreme tq arm http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
Repost? Oh well. Let me know when you're ready to throw down. But you'll have to wait until its about 50 degrees or better :)

I have been super busy with the new gf but i got a chance to work on the car tonight. Got my steam vent lines relocated, fixed my rear sway, added some washers to strenghten the firewall for the clutch master, i had to move my qa1 adjuster knobs to face the outside due to them coming to close to my 1" sway (this is when i realized the rear passenger wont adjust at all so ill need to get it rebuilt or buy a new one)
My grant steering wheel, install kit, taylor battery box, and flaming river cutoff came in friday. Ill toss all that in next weekend and should get my next shipment of parts in friday.
I got my negative cables all bought for my relocation but still need to go see kyler and get the positive cables bought.
things to do this weekend: take the wp housing to collin, install the ewp, welded timing cover, opti, add some fluids, throw on the driveshaft.

got the rear brakes all done. wiring is all done (still need to solder my ewp wiring but the solder gun tip decided to kick the can), got the welded waterpumo housing and ewp on, skinnies stopped by and gave me a hand in the wiring. very thankful for that http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/lol.gif http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/thumb.gif i put the camaro front calipers, pads, and rotors on (less miles and more pad life FTW) all thats left is wheel studs (didn't want to make a racket around 830pm since our neighbors have youngins) and bleeding the brakes (kinda hard to do with just me http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/lol.gif )

i found a huge header leak on the passenger side and that damn passenger 02 still is reading funky. so i unplugged them to drive it around last weekend. didn't go to the track but got some street results (bad header leak and no 02's) i found out after i disengage my line lock my front brakes grab ALOT! after i did two dig runs against a 11.90 ls1 i turned the engage swith off and on 6 times and it free'd up the front brakes :frustrated: ill have to see what thats about. percey header gaskets get here wed. ill be at the track this sat even if i dont get the 02's fixed

well i installed the msd 6al today and mounted the msd 2 step (still waiting on parts to make it functional wiring wise) i tested the the line lock and the issue isnt there so idk why after i disengaged it the last two times on the street the brakes drug bad http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/confused.gif . finally put a filter on my cold air http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/lol.gif installed te vaccumn gauge in the car. i still need to figure out which wire to tap into to get them to light up when i turn the car lights on http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/yup.gif . added some more interior so its not so gutted lol. after doing some testing i beleive my low rpm miss, black exhaust smoke when reved past 5k and fuel on all the plugs is due to my opti starting to kick the can (less than 3k on the installed opti btw) i should have lock tighted the rotor screws but u live and learn http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/thumbsdown.gif i have a nonvented opti thats newish in the garage. ill order the msd cap and rotor when i get paid and throw her on http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/thumb.gif ill be out the next to weekends on the crap opti though im hoping it will hold to get some times down the 1320 http://mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/yup.gif

went to the track tonight and coud only cut a 1.70 60ft. jerry told me to soften the rear up a lil next time out to try and get in the 1.6's. the car has 12.40's in it as it sits. i still need to put the chromoly k member in and do some more cutting http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/yup.gif sonofgto might be selling his 4in ws6 vfn hood so that would aslo help out on weight it he decides to sell it http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/yup.gif car did good imo for the first time out and the season is super young..here is the best pass
60' 1.759

went to the track 2 weeks ago. the da was low 500's. i lowered the psi down to 13 this visit, put the rear on 7 and fronts on 3, and hooked up the 2 step. first couple runs i had the 2 step at 5500 and clicked off a 12.40 @109.43 (12.40@109.43) and then a 12.352. raised the 2 step to 6000 and put the fronts on 1. the times went way down each run. i would hot lap the car 3 runs then let it sit for 20ish minutes. clicked off 3 more 12.30 passes then 4 consecutive 12.2x passes.
thanks goes out to butler for giving me some pointers and lining me up in the best groove possible http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/headbang.gif
best pass:

60' 1.687

thanks to everyone that helped me out http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/wavey.gif http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/thumb.gif my goal was 12.40's in this car and i surpassed it http://www.mofbody.com/forums/images/smiles/smile.gif
