Polo green, 96 LT4, still need a bit of work. No real performance mods to speak of yet, just bolt ons, but I'm working my butt off to get the $$$ to change that haha.

So im not too knowledgeable with what the LT4 came in. i know if came in the grand sport, and certain years of the ZR-1 had them too right? was the LT4 stock in your vette? was there a special model number, like Z06 ( i know it was Z06)? I know LT4 came in some Fbodys as well.

car sounds bad ass.

LT4 Came in 96 Grand Sport and ALL 96 Manual Corvette's. Did NOT come in standard Auto Vette's.

Came in 29 97 Firehawks and 109 (I think) SS Camaro's.

Essentially, LT4 had revised intake manifold, heads, four bolt main block, camshaft. Pretty healthy for a factory 23* setup.

car sounds bad ass.IIRC it was available in ZR1/GS Corvettes in 1996 and 1997 and special 1997 Fbodys (106 30th Anniv SS (6 to canada) and ~30 Firehawks)

Forgive my ignorance, but whats the difference between a lt1 and a lt4?

(takes deep breath) intake manifold, heads, valves, valve springs, 1.6 crane RR's, pistons, crankshaft, camshaft, timing chain, damper, exhaust manifolds, exhaust, knock sensor, EGR deleted, injectors, tune.

This is correct, it came in the GS vettes, and just over 3000 non GS vettes, in 96 you could not get a manual with an LT1, and you could not get an auto with an LT4.

The ZR-1 production stopped in 95, all ZR-1's had the LT5.

yea i knew that ZR-1 came with the LT5, but i thought maybe a year or two it came with the LT4, thats why i was asking.

and the LT5 has no relation to the rest of the LTx family from my understanding. I understand it that they were a mercury motor, a DOHC v8.

All ZR-1's were LT5 only.

Theyre an all aluminum 4 cam 32 valve monster designed by lotus and built by Mercruiser.

415HP, revs to 8500RPM, and can be stroked out to a 470

Might as well take the cam while your in there, even if it isn't much better than a stock LT1 cam.
