Yup, his install is very clean and one of the main reasons why I upgraded my dash from a 93-96 to a 97+ for my carPC setup. :)

Yeah, if done right it can look pretty clean in our cars. Here's one I've just had saved on my computer for awhile.

That's SoulReaver's car.

Steph - They can do anything a PC can do. Internet (within range of wifi or mobile phone as modem, etc.), Music, Navigation, DVD Player, ETC.

Yeah, I've wanted one so I could set it up to datalog and upload programs to the pcm, as well as run all my MP3s and playlists straight to the truck/car's system. Probably end up using google maps quite a bit :D

You can do it pretty cheap. Old laptop (free - $200), 7" touchscreen ($125 ebay), some creative wiring, and the Centrafuse software.

I'm almost done gathering all the parts for my Carcpu.

And the best part - real time datalogging and tuning. :)

one qustion were the hell did you find the parts to make a computer that small in the car

It all depends on how people do the setups. Mine is 100% enclosed behind the screen in the dash. I have a 7" square Via Epia mini-ITX motherboard, fullsize hard drive, and a small power supply specially made for in-car use. The 7" square motherboard makes placement a lot easier than trying to use a laptop motherboard, for example. mp3car.com has a storefront for the more common items used to make carPCs.

Another alternative would be to put the screen in place and then run a VGA cord to a remote mounted computer somewhere else in the car... under the passenger seat, in the rear spare tire well, in the rear cargo area, etc.
