Honestly, I wouldn't even bother cutting them out. Just slap the grills in there. It won't look any different, since the inlets are so small. You can barely even see when they are cut.

Im looking at getting the LS1 Lid & Radiator Support or the OEM Ws6 Box. I still got stock intake setup.
I can get LS1 LID & Radiator support for $100. Where do you get the Grills they are kinda expensive i seen.

not sure on how to cut them out but i will give you one tip. get the aftermarket hood screens from hawks 3rd gen performance parts. i paid $50 shipped for the pair and they went right into my OEM WS6 hood. the oem ones cost $95 EACH

you can find deals if you look. i paid $307.51 on ebay for a real OEM WS6 hood unpainted that was a protoype made by the company that produced the hoods for GM. it had a small hole in it that needed filled (thats why it was a prototype, the SMC thinned out in that spot and they made ~ 25 hoods on the first batch and had to modify the mold) and the corners up by the windshield had to be patched a little before the hood was painted due to it being stood straight up for several years. here's a pic of how it looked when i picked it up. the little black dot in the valley portion of the hood on the drivers side between the outer section and the raised inner section is the hole i'm referring to. I think i did pretty good considering they retail for over $1500. I had to drive to detroit to get it (about 5 hrs one way) but i have an aunt and uncle who live in jackson about an hr west of detroit so we made a weekend out of it and it only took ~ 3 hrs that saturday to run over to detroit, load the hood in the station wagon, and drive back to jackson

i still have the oem baffles behind the grills (different than what your hood has, mine has holes for the air but they go up and over a piece of the hood that prevents water from getting to the filter)
you can also find deals on the airbox if you look hard enough. i paid $115 shipped for my box, a K&N filter, and the bellow between the MAF & TB

not sure if you were referring to me or the OP but the WS6 hood/airbox is one of the best cosmetic/performance mods for the LT1 firebird/TA

yeah i'd go for those grills. not sure on the baffle thing. i kept mine but then again i also have a stock hood. i don't even know if your aftermarket hood will have a baffle once you remove the filled in ram air holes

I never knew the LT1 firehawk hood was different from the WS6 hood, learn something new everyday.
Hood looks good man, the ducts look more rounded than they do on my car, the ducts are real flat on top on mine

it might be the harwood. i found a stock pic of one on their website and not only does it not have the holes cut out but its got a similar rounded shape to the nostrils as yours does
