The sensor is new, well I put one in the car 6 months ago and havent run it until about 2 weeks ago. The coolant level is fine everytime I check it. The car doesnt run hot, I flip my fan switch on at 210 and with the fans it doesnt get above 190.
Driving the car normal the light doesnt come on, but whenever I gun it and turn over 3500-4000 rpms the light comes on and then goes off when i turn the car off and then crank it again.

This is a stupid little problem that is bothering me. Anyone have any ideas. Im thinking about buying another sensor but dont want to because this one is new, and i dont have the receipt to get another one for free.

Take the sensor off and see if it has any buildup on it.

I just unplugged mine. Keeps the light off thattaway.

Mine would always come on after about 5 minutes of driving.

Yeah I'd check the sensor but I'm going to venture and guess it failed again.

LT1 cars are notorious for having the low coolant light stick on. The sensors are real finicky so if they get a little dirty or anything it'll cause the light to come on. Mine does it too. GM didn't even put one on the LS1 cars so I'd just unplug it and be done with it.

Yeah, I unplugged the one on the formula, but wanted to make this one work since it was 50 bucks.
Checked it today and it was clean. Thanks for the help anyways. sigh.

I was thinking maybe it had air pockets in it that would move when the water was getting pumped faster but tried to bleed it and it didnt have any air in it.
Ill just unplug this one to.

My brother has a 99 SS and he has replaced his sensor twice (still doesnt work). He saved me some money when mine went cuz i knew not to replace it. unplugging it is the easiest 50 bucks i ever saved.
