Until I can get an awesome clutch. My current clutch only has about 3500 miles on it but its a factory replacement so I'm not expecting oh so great performance from it. Especially since I dont make the same power I did when I put the clutch in.

I got out to the track again this past Saturday. Got tech'd in and immediately hopped in line.

First run went as followed:

60'........2.038
330'......5.632
1/8.......8.532
mph......85.02
1000.....11.014
1/4.......13.090
MPH......108.81

So I thought, cool, next pass I'll launch a little harder to drop that 60' and whala! 12's, right?

Thats not what my car had in mind.

I let it sit for about an hour, it seems to run about 1/2 mph faster when its cooler.

Through the waterbox we go, hey look at all that smoke...mmmm sticky tires, that calls for good traction yea?

2nd pass: Side stepping the clutch about 4k rpm (on a 4.10 gear)

60'.......2.09 (.056 slower)
330'.....6.077 (.445 slower)
1/8......9.307 (.775 slower)
MPH.....79.42 (5.6 mph)
1000'....11.935 (.921 slower)
1/4.......14.091 (1.001 slower)
MPH......105.55 (3.26 mph)

Apparently having all the traction you would ever need behind 300rwhp on a stock clutch isnt the way to do things.

Off the line, the tranny never caught up with the motor, into 2nd we go and its still slipping. After that I took the car home and went back to the track on my bike and the clutch smelled the entire way home. Awesome, right?

So I'm throwin the 315 streets back on it for now so I can keep this clutch on the road for a little while longer.

That is all for now, good day.

What kinda 26"x11" are you using? What I do is keep the tire pressure up there kinda high with my lower hp set-up. I ran 18psi in the sig. pic. You want the tire to scuff not the clutch, so I started with an overinflated slick and have found that @ 5700rpm and 18psi is just right for now.

OOPS, I guess my sig. pic ain't here. There we go

He can find a used one for 200. On a stock clutch leavin at 4k he will need one soon anyways

I had the tires at 20 cold. when I checked em at the track they had crept up to 25...then with a little burnout action I'd guess they were damn near 30psi lol. I was kinda hoping they wouldve spun.

Spec Stage II. Problem solved, and it's not a wallet killer.

Do you have an opinion on the Centerforce DF?

I don't. Never even driven one. I've got experience with stock, McLeod Single disc, McLeod Street Twin, Spec Stage II, III, and III+.

So you think the spec II would be legit for a H/C setup later down the road? I want to buy one that will hold some abuse (about 400rwhp) but still be street friendly because it is just a street car.

Good god my 10 bolt will hate the shit out of me.

It should be ok for a while. I had it on the purple car that was a mild head/cam setup making 340/360 to the ground. Sucker drove and felt like stock but bit hard enough for me to bark 4th on the freeway on a full bore 3-4 shift. You could step it up to the 2+ which would probably last longer. The 3 and 3+ while nice, are a bit chattery and a little rougher than the 2 and 2+.

RAM HD is what I'm going with next. That's what we use and it's seemed to work out real well. The others I've had experience with is Spec III but I've only heard of 1 being good and the cars only got like 1000 on the motor in 2 years, all the others are bad. I'd be interested to see how the McLeods hold up.
