invalid response from pcm

i have a 97 z28 w a 94 pcm car runs fine. using tunercats and deff EE and a cable from aldl.com, when i connect i here the fan turn on then off then the fuel pump turn on then off then a invalid responce from the pcm

scanners work fine my snap on and my otc scanner.

any idea please help does any one know a # to contect someone at tunercats thanks dave

the cable i bought is for 94/95 camaro w/ obd 2 connector

It may be a defective cable but more so sounds like something bad at the PCM. When the fans turn on its not a good sign. ALDL stuff is junk, check out www.akmcables.com

i found a prob
the only way i can get to connect to the pcm is if i have a battery charger on the car, and then at night if i need to connect, my daytime running light come on (which i cant turn off) i pull a fuse for the gages which disable the drl.
i hear im not supposed to use a battery charger on the car when i program
my battery is about 4 month old and i mantane about 11.9-12.5v with engine off
any idea why it is like this or is this normal thanks dave

12.5v is a good battery with no draw.
