or some tires may help.

I raced for the first time ever tonight, lined up next to a 240z with the whatever motor swap, said he ran 14s so we should have been close.
After sitting in line for over 2 hours, after 3 cars blew up on the track, I got to run.

I eased into first trying not to spin and then hit it at the top of first, it grabbed for a second and then as soon as it hit 2nd gear i blew the tires off of it. I tried feathering it to get traction back but didnt get anything until 3rd.

R/T: .710- i didnt want to redlight
60': 2.514
330: 7.444
1/8: 10.859
MPH: 74.50
1000:13.678
1/4: 16.047- yall are jelous arent you. lol
MPH: 95.99

Im gonna start on suspension and get some tires before I do anything else. I had bad wheel hop off the line, even though I eased into it and then it just spun.
If anyone was wondering the 240z ran a 13.885 at 100.03mph. I was like half a track back when I finally started going. :jest:

Ya, some DR's and suspension work might help you out a little lol.

Your mph is still really good for a 16 second pass, so if you can get that thing to hook you should be good.

With some suspension work, tires, and some practice you should be doing good. Drag Radials make a huge improvement in launching the car, but practice makes perfect.

The bad thing is I hook better on the street than I did on the track tonight. Im gonna go back to the next test and tune and see if i can work it out with a few passes under my belt. I know the track couldnt have been in great shape after 3 cars blew oil in my lane and they were closing and trying to get everyone out at fast as possible. My main thing I dont like is the wheel hop.

Yeah but wheel hop + DR's = :peace2: 10 bolt.

First step, practice.
Second step, eliminating the wheel hop.

Drag radials would obviously help but a 2.6 60ft is just awful lol. You can easily get that down with some practice

Not all the time. I have seen cars that would wheel hop with street tires and not with DRs. I have also seen cars hop only at the track but not on the street. So it all depends. A set of DRs would help but dont let it hop at all or you might be taking your chances at buying a 12 bolt.

The wheel hop is bad. It does it on the street to just as bad as the track. It even did it once when the road was wet.
I checked this morning and the posi is shot. Could this contribute to it?
Last night was the first time ive hit W.O.T. and held it, so it was more of a shake down run on how the car was gonna do, Im glad nothing broke. lol
Im looking into suspension right now, I dont want to blow this ten bolt out, and Im not confident at all in my driving.
I just wish i could get more practice in because the GA Fbody shootout is about a month away and the local track doesnt have another test and tune until may.:(
