So I'm looking at making about 315 ish rwhp and 340 ish rwtq. I have Spohn lower control arms and an adjustable panhard rod and I may be getting an edlebrock torque arm. I'm going to be running 255/50/16 BFG DR's. I have a six speed with 4.10's. My weight right now is 3480 without a driver. I want to know what my chances are of hitting a 12 with the driver mod. Also I will be ditching the spare tire and the front sway. Where else can I drop weight without losing the interior? I was going to take out the front and rear bumper supports. How difficult is that to do? How much weight will I drop with the spare, jack, front sway, and bumper supports? Help!

Do you have headers, freeflowing ex,tune,1.6rr etc.?
if so at sea level traction 12s are in the bag..
my last time out with an aged clutch, 3004'DA i ran 13.35@105 w/2.0 60' that is roughly a 12.7 at sea level....you should be there with the forementioned mods........

Skip the Edelbrock torque arm, especially with a m6. They have broke many times on people. Buy a good brand name one, if you can find one used thats great, otherwise get new. They are a bit pricey compared to the Edelbrock, but remember, Edelbrock is not a suspension company. Midwest-Chassis, Madman, Burkhart Chassis, Spohn, BMR.

I have a K&N FIPK, air foil, 4.10's, Pacesetter LT headers, PS 3 inch OFY, Mufflex 4 inch cat back, Pro 5.0 shifter right now. I'm going to be doing the LS1 lid, getting a tune, and a set of 1.6 roller rockers. I was just going to use my buddy's edlebrock. I wasn't going to buy it. Just trying to crack off that 12. What kind of mph can I expect?

You'll probably be in the 108-109mph area, if it all goes well. I simply would not use the Edelbrock torque arm. You may be borrowing it at first, but you may be buying him a new one before you get a chance to focus on a real one for yourself. That would be WASTEFUL, don't hurt yourself finacially over junk parts. I'm gonna go hunt for some pics of the broken ones for ya.

Driveshaft and torque arm are being replaced here before car is driveable again.

Ouch. His is non adjustable. You really think I can get that kind of mph?

If you can get a good launch without breaking something, I would think your mph should be in there. I don't have headers, 1.6rr, or a tune and I have got 106.98mph.

Damn. I am on a 10 bolt with a rebuild and Richmond 4.10's with a rear girdle. Has about 6,000 miles on it. And the clutch that came in it 40,000 miles ago is still in there. So those are my only worries.

My car:

Moroso CAI
Trickflow elbow
Jethot Longtubes
Hooker ORY
4.10 gear
26x11.50 tire

Went 13.0 at 108.8
Thats on a shitty 2.04 60'

My car is full weight/full accessory besides the jack and spare which was 39 lbs all together if I remember correctly.

You shouldnt have a problem dipping 12's.

Any suggestions on launch technique? If I don't do the RR's should 12's still be attainable?

Some guys with the 10bolts say there best launch is by slipping the clutch out the hole. I've seen many of them get better 60's than I do dumping mine, lack of power on my end. If you can get a 1.81x 60ft I'd have to say 12's are attainable. Thats what I 60ft at.

How do you slip the clutch?

How do you slip the clutch?
Slipping the clutch is just releasing it more slowly. Basically you'll put the clutch right before engagement, rev your engine to what you want to launch at then let your clutch out and use the clutch/gas to correct for tire spin/bog.

Glad mines an auto. I went 12.98@103.03 in my car with a k&n filter, grannetelli maf ends,52mm edelbrock tb,1.6 crane rr's,pacesetter lt's,universal x-pipe cut tucked and welded by my bro, flowmaster outlaw race mufflers,3.73 gears on stock posi, hotparts dd subframe conectors, hotparts lca relo brackets, umi lca's,umi panhard rod, tune from madz28,3500 stall tci and nitto 555r dr's launching at 1800rpm clicking off a 1.71 60ft with a stock torque arm. I'd say launch it at 4500 and slip the clutch just alittle on dr's and you should be right there. Any trap speed over 101 is good for a 12.99 pass as long as you can get it to hook. I currently run a non-adjustable edelbrock ta on my Trans Am and have had no problems even with me cutting low 1.6 60ft times and running the times in my sig. But it is an auto.
