Fog light switch question

97 z28 camaro 6m.

Does anyone elses fog light switch get very hot when the fogs are on? Im wondering if maybe its from the little bulb inside of it? Or is the current not running through a relay and going straight through to the fogs?

Reason i ask is im in school for my job right now and we just went over relays, and that came to mind. The car is sitting under snow right now otherwise id go check, so i figured id ask here first.

Mine doesnt get hot, not sure why yours is though.

Damnit, thats what i was afraid of. Maybe ill have to start poking around with a multimeter here soon once the snow is gone and shes on the road again.

i was thinking about changing out the fog lights anyways, so if i was to change them id run new wiring and a new relay anyhow. The stock fogs light output is sub par to say the least haha

Your not the only one. Mine does get very hot when I don't even have the fog lights on. My friends 99' Z28 also gets very hot. I don't really worry about it.
